This a special, intimate little spot. It was a two-person operation for breakfast and they had it nailed down. The food was delicious—I had the breakfast bowl with eggs, yams, onion tomatoes etc. and my friend had the mushroom toast. Both dishes were excellent and we could tell how much care went into making them. The table area is very small perhaps room for three 2-tops and a small bar counter. We came in with a stroller and wouldn’t have had anywhere to sit, but luckily two kind folks at a table volunteered to move to another so we could fit. Something to keep in mind if you have a larger party. The space was eclectic and full of character. I really enjoyed this place and would love to come back and try more menu items, as well as visit in the evening for a cocktail.
Lovely place, good food! Had a latte, lox toast and a papaya shake. The latte and lox toast was seriously tasty!! The papaya shake did not do it for me though, I prefer sweeter drinks. But I'm sure they have other shakes you'll love! Totally go for it : Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options!! My sister had a mushroom toast that was so good! Dietary restrictions: They have oat milk, for example.
Had an amazing experience with my family , ordered the avocado toast, mycelium toast and the rooibos tea and loved it. Portion size was perfect and every bite was filled with lots of yummy flavors. The ambiance was very relaxing as well. Highly recommend it
Great little place. Note that this is not your typical brunch 'eggs Benedict' place. Food is unusual, but exceptionally good and tasty in my opinion. We keep coming back every other week. Place is relatively small. Can only fit 4 parties of 2-4 people. Some sitting outside that hopefully will become usable very soon when it gets warmer. Average waiting time for a weekend branch 11am - 1 pm can be 20-40 min. But it worth it.
What an amazing breakfast! This place is tiny and cozy, but we were able to get a seat at the bar, where we could see up close all the work that was happening in the kitchen. You could tell straight away the owner/chef puts a great amount of care in how he makes the food. And of course the result comes through clearly in the presentation and taste of the dishes. We had the Buenos Dias and Egg/Pesto/Avocado sandwich. Both were filling, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to order the French toast with nut butter. We left very happy and satisfied! Next time we're in Brooklyn, we'll be back for breakfast and also for cocktails since this place turns into a Hawaiian cocktail bar after 4pm.
Quirky laid back cafe, minutes walk from Barclays Center. When we got there we were told that the wait will be 30 minutes while it ended up to be 5 minutes since we biked all the way from queens, we waited. We got two bowls - 1. Umami bowl- Roasted golden potatoes and shiitake mushrooms topped with Companion kimchi, avocado, goat cheese, lemon crema, organic micro greens & hemp seeds with egg. 2. Sumöku Samon Salad- Dressed and tossed organic salad greens topped with sliced Acme lox, Companion kimchi, lemon crema, avocado, organic micro greens & hemp seeds. Both bowls were incredible . They were fresh and a lot of flavors in one bowl. I also got the Date Shake Espresso, Companion nut butter, medjool dates, cinnamon, oat milk- which I loved and I thought it was brilliant . The only disappointing part on our visit was the VERY lack of flexibility in their food making. While I understand that some chefs and cooks don’t like to modify their food, our request was very basic and simple; we wanted to have the goat cheese of the umami bowl on a side plate or not to mix it in the bowl since my friend doesn’t like goat cheese and we were sharing- but they were not willing to accommodate it no reason was given besides, we don’t do that. When we ask if we can add salmon to our other plate even on the side for extra $$, we were told that they can’t accommodate it either.
Beautiful decor and a very intimate simple and tasteful space with nice simple easy delicious food. Small so you may have to wait to eat inside. There are tables outside so I'm sure in the summer will be nice to sit out side. Very nice music and a nice vybz. Cheers From Chef Ken Skylar Features: Our table was a safe distance away from the other tables. Out door seating tables are far enough to accommodate social distancing as well. Vegetarian options: They have really good salad bowl options Kid-friendliness: I think it's a nice location for a child.
The best place for breakfast and coffee! I love this place so much, those guys really talented and passionate about food and a great service.Recommended dishesBreakfast, Morning Melt
Healthy, filling, and delicious breakfasts. We had the one bowl to rule them all, the umami bowl, and the date shake. Great service. Both dishes were great, I’d lean towards the first one the next time I go.
Tiny place but so tasty. Believe me I’m very picky and generally don’t like most of the restaurants in the US But these guys serve very nice and cook delicious. We took lox toast, melting morning toast and mocha choco latta yaya with pepper just perfect!
