Confetti Park is a really cool little park. Not only is it very attractive it is well stocked with fun things for the young ones to use. Unfortunately we have had a week of heavy rain and rain the day we visited. This caused a fair amount of mud which is inevitable in a grass park. This is a really fun looking place that young people can enjoy. Playground: Slide and several toys on site Toilets: No restrooms at site Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leash, must pickup after dog Picnic area: Tables and seating provided
We frequent Confetti Park often as my husband teaches at a school nearby. We have children from age 2-10, and they all find ways to enjoy our time there. We are homeschoolers, and we sometimes bring our workbooks with us when we visit because there are several picnic tables available. The kids can alternate playing and working on their lessons. We can easily spend 2-4 hours there on a nice day. I love how much "yard" there is for the kids to run around and explore. With the fence and gated entry, I actually feel comfortable sitting for a few moments without worrying that my toddler will be hightailing it down the street if I look away for 2 seconds. Toilets: No public restroom on site. Picnic area: Several tables and benches available.
Kids Playground in the corner lot at Verret and Pelican in Algiers Point, two blocks from the Mississippi River levee, where one can see the best view of New Orleans without a helicopter. Climbing, swinging, and discovery in the playground for the little ones. Rubber deck around the equipment, and some grassy spots for good old running around. Yes, some shade trees. Beautiful Unique Art Fence keeps the toddlers inside. Picnic tables for those birthday parties. A couple of steel Art Benches. Bring a cushion for sitting longer than 5 minutes. Some days I've seen more than a dozen adults with toddlers all interacting. It's a happy place.
While visiting new orleans, we researched that confetti park on algiers point confetti park organization had a children mardi gras parade. we had the best time, my family took the ferry over to the island and by chance met the dance boy of the parade, while waiting for the ferry. we had know idea what his duties were or what to except from the parade. confetti park had a neighborhood vibe, with a welcoming atmosphere. an amazing brass band of youth, lead the music of the parade, while the dancing boy energetically lead us down the neighborhood's streets. homemade floats, bikes, scooters and roller skates followed the music. wonderful time, and we are grateful for the experience.
Love this park! Our family comes here often after getting tacos and margaritas right across the street, which is a huge parent perk of this park! Adorable neighborhood, very nice friendly families and kids that play well! Out of the many parks I've been to, I will say the kids that come here tend to be very well-behaved. There is the occasion that a crazy entitled parent will show up with some gigantic dog like why? It's a kids' park that is such a sketchy choice but otherwise it's a chill park. There are lots of benches and shade trees as well as a full fence with gates. Playground: Good for toddlers and up, there are smaller toys scattered around but because of the high catwalks it's not the safest for very young children who haven't totally gotten their balance down. Picnic area: No bbq pits but there are very nice shady tables.
Cute, little neighborhood park. The gate can be a bit tricky/difficult, but my toddler enjoyed playing here. There isn't too much shade over the playground area, but there are plenty of seating areas and trees throughout.
Confetti Park is a wonderful ,cute park on the corner. Families leave their outgrown toys for other children to play with in the park. Awesome!! Algiers Point has always been a special and unforgettable community!!
Nice area. I love the area in old Algiers. Taco restaurant is across the street. You sit outside and people watch. Good place to relax.
