INCREDIBLY UNHELPFUL. My daughter is going abroad and went to sort out her visa and SHE GOT YELLED AT FOR SOMETHING OUT OF HER CONTROL INSTEAD OF BEING HELPFUL AND EXPLAIN WHAT SHE DID WRONG. is this the type of workers you choose for a government job??? this is ridiculous. some of you need to go back to training if that’s how you handle a minor inconvenience.
Horrible experience, the ladies at the front desk have no clue about what the visa requirements are and quite frankly seemed rude and condescending; completely contradicted everything online on the website. Went with all the documents required for a multiple entry visa friends on the mainland never had any issues getting multiple entry visa as there is bilateral agreement between Japan and my home country. Told me I needed to bring last 5 years of tax returns and 2 years worth of bank statements and a ticket and hotel reservation and even then I might not get the visa ?! why would someone book their tickets without getting a tourist visa.. If youre looking for a tourist visa get in SFO or any other place on the mainland, this consulate in Hawaii is incompetent
Thank you very much for your kindness and outstanding support during my Japanese passport renewal. I suffer from Parkinson's disease and everyone went above and beyond to assist my husband and I. It was a rainy day today and you were kind and considerate to allow my husband to drive through the gate to pick me up in front of the office. Aloha and Mahalo Hiroko Ikeda McGauley
Most unhelpful and unpleasant people ever to deal with. Talked down on me when speaking Japanese on some required forms, but sounded so helpful and eager to assist when an English speaker came in for some visa applications. When i didn't have one required form to enter japan for the quarantine, the guy told me i was supposed to check their website throughly before coming and had everything ready to turn in but he was so eager to offer help for an English speaker for his missing paperwork. Wth japan council.
One of the ladies working visa paperwork, is the most unprofessional, insensitive, and rudest of people. Laughing and joking about a humanitarian bereavement request, ignoring the customer, refusing to elevate the issue to the next level supervisor. Incredible indignant behavior, not typical of a true Japanese. She dishonored her entire family lineage. Horrid excuse for a person.
The lady who was helping me with my Visa was so impolite! She kept ignoring me and it got to the point where her other coworkers had to tell her that I was waiting for her help. I could feel her irritation with me while she was "forced" to help me. It made me feel so uncomfortable.
Mahalo for the awesome customer service yesterday! The guards and the staff of the consulate office had friendly and accomodating demeanors unlike the first two instances I got here.
Extremely impersonal, unhelpful and uncaring. Most people working there appear to be resentful of their job and perform duties with a frigid indifference.
Amazing customer service. They helped figure out my visa procedures during the peak of the pandemic and were of great help to me.
I needed to get all the documents done to receive my son’s citizenship and they were helpful. It’s better to call before going there for anything that needs to be done because you usually need multiple documents and it’s quite a hassle. I had to get some paperwork sent from Japan before going there!
