Food is good for the price. The staff are normally quick and efficient, the problem is it appears management/corporate sort of takes a it is what is approach. Simple things like the order speaker piercing your ears so loudly, but they evidently still can’t hear you? I had a dash cam recording so I know I ordered a large sweet tea. They rises to correct the order without me going through the line again, which you can’t do without going around the block. Just poor management policy. Good milkshakes and food for the price.
Decided to try it out based on the multitude of shake options and the great prices. We had planned to eat in and were disappointed you were drive up/ walk up only. The BBQ sandwich was ok, but it needed more sauce for my taste. It was rather dry and didn't have a BBQ flavor because of this. I thought it was shredded chicken at first. I'd ask for more sauce on the sandwich or some on the side to add my own next time. The chili was different but decent and the corn dog was good and freshly fried. I just forgot to get mustard for it. If they asked if you needed any condiments, and I would have remembered it. The chili dog was ok too, but I'd like onions and cheese on mine if it were offered like other places do when you order. My wife loved her banana shake, but my chocolate fudge might have been missing the fudge. It was exactly like a very thick Frosty. I don't know if that's how it is supposed to be. It was good, but I felt like it was missing something. Overall we will probably be back again to try some of the other shakes and menu items. But we do feel like it is certainly an assembly line place, cranking out the minimum needed to get everyone through the line. I guess that's the reason it was quick and cheap.
I ordered three huge burgers and one was pink and the bread was soaked in pure oil, one was half cooked still pink in the middle and the last burger was re grilled also burnt black as charcoal and soaked I mean it was so much grease I could have squeezed it out the wet bread.. don't go here go to the Union ave cook out, because they are cooking like they're trying to win a championship... Everything is made fresh...
Even tho the line can wind down the street they are so proficient it almost takes the same amount of time. And let me tell you I get a dble bacon cheesburge with everything, 2 sides usually Cajun fries and fried cheese bites, but you can practically make them two more entries and a milkshake up to 3 Topps banana berry and pineapple for about 9 buckstaste great! And I know for a fact it helps a lot of families esp in this are between The Mound and The University. Really can't beat it , thnx guys Kid-friendliness: And dog lovers
My French fries were hot.The burger was tasty, onions were grilled nicely. The patties were very small and the reason for 4 stars. The price was reasonable for the serving size.
I just left the cookout around 11:50pm on Nov. 8 th.. You really need to fire everyone and start fresh.. I'm really thinking about suing because I have food posioning from eating there. This is the dumbest nasty location I've been to in my entire life. I'm on my way to the emergency room as we speak. No gloves are worn when they prepare your food. BEWARE!!!
I’ve been to this location many times but this time my experience was horrible. I ordered three different meals on my order for me and my two siblings. After I finished, the cashier named Macoya told me my total. When I got to the window they handed me my food but one of the meals on my order was not handed to me. I then informed the cashier that I was missing another meal. Macoya told me that she did not ring jt up. I then began to hand her back my cash in order for her to pay me out for the last order she missed over the headset. Macoya then told me that if I wanted my third meal from my order, that I would have to pull back around in line and also suggested that I should walk up to the walk up window at 2:00 in the morning. I then proceeded to inform them again I did my part as the customer by telling them everything I wanted on my order before pulling up to the window, and that it was Macoya’s fault that my order was wrong. At this point, I wanted my money back for the entire order because they wanted me to go back around to order after I had already done so. Macoya got the manager named Candice to come to the window to handle the problem. Candice informed me that she will not be giving me a refund no matter if it’s cash or card. Candice did not do her job as a manager. I am disappointed by this experience and I will be calling corporate on the morning!
The drive-thru wait was a normal wait time that any restaurant in the area would experience. The employees are friendly, considering the short amount of time that we get to speak at the window. The food is tasty and never disappoints. I love their Cajun fries seasoning I always double my fries order and sweet tea!!
My 1st experience with the Cookout restaurant, the cashier was eager to explain the menu & what they offered which was very helpful. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, it wasn't spicy at all, the food was hot & fresh, I appreciated that. The food wasn't what I expected but there's so much to choose from, I'll definitely visit again. The restrooms had an unplesant odor but for the most part was clean. The music that was playing was annoying to me for a restaurant I couldn't sit & enjoy a conversation because of that...
Amazing late night choice. The line was long but the wait wasn't. They have a nice variety of food and everything on the menu is still pretty fresh, even at 2AM.
