I cannot recommend Gary and the other folks at Cooper CPA highly enough. In addition to helping me get set up as a small business owner, Gary helped walk me through questions I had regarding a trust after the passing of my dad. I worked at Cooper CPA Group for 4 years and left to start my own firm in January. I can't speak highly enough of the support and assistance I received and continue to receive from Gary and the team. Instead of treating me like a competitor, which most firms would, Gary and team have gone out of their way to help me get things off the ground and continue to offer support and assistance whenever needed. Had a fraudulent tax return filed under my name after Cooper filed my extension. The fraudulent return was completely accurate with one added entry for erroneous 'business losses' allowing the thief to claim a refund. ONLY Cooper possessed this aggregated information, which I uploaded to their 'secure' portal. I had to sign an IRS fraud affidavit at their office. They had the audacity to send me an additional $500 invoice for the office visit [I had already paid them $1,500 to file the personal return]. Clown World.
I did so much research trying to find someone to help me with an IRS issue and finally landed on Cooper CPA Group because of their phenomenal reviews. Well, if you need assistance with IRS issues or personal taxes - this is not the right firm for you. They sent an e-mail with pricing and what they would cover with that cost and then sent an engagement letter excluding the one and only thing I truly needed help with. Mistakenly, I signed it without reviewing. I guess I had hopes that they would stand by their word. Well, I was taken advantage of. The customer service and response time was poor because they don't value clients who aren't paying thousands of dollars which was pretty much summed up and shared with me. I waited days if not weeks to get responses but when it came to first acquiring my business the outreach was daily. I'm not a tax or IRS expert. I went to this company and trusted them to help me solve my problems and instead walked away with spending more money and none of my issues resolved. I truly had such a horrible experience. I can only hope this isn't the way they treat the rest of their lower billing clients.
