Service was quick and friendly! I highly recommend ordering takeout since the restaurant is small. The yangyum sauce was great - just like how I’ve had it in South Korea - sticky and sweet. My husband had a small bone-in order of wings with the spicy soy. He really enjoyed it but could have tolerated more spice. I’ll definitely come back to order some of their other food to take home!!
The fried chicken here isn’t bad. I got the Yang yum chicken which was a little soggy cus of the sauce. Speaking of the sauce…it was very sweet and didn’t have much spice to it. It tastes kinda like general tso sauce? I wouldn’t recommend that flavor. The spicy garlic, on the other hand, was super crispy and fragrant with garlic seasoning. Even though it wasn’t that spicy either, I really enjoyed it! For the small portion, you get 6 wings. For the large, you get 12. Note that these wings are HUGE, I mean one drumstick is like double the size of a drumstick in other places. They are just massive. One small is definitely more than one person could eat, which isn’t a bad thing. You do get your money’s worth! Though I must admit that bb.q chicken around the corner is still the best Korean fried chicken. Coreanos was a bit more greasy and more thickly battered, and the flavors are better at bb.q.
Food was delicious. We ordered the pork katsu kimbap and the kimchi fried rice. The portions were good size. They only have 4 small tables for eating in.Food: 4/5
Coreanos is a small Korean, Mexican fusion spot in Allston that packs a delicious menu. There is very little seating, so expect to take things to-go. Parking can also be difficult in this area. I recommend going on a Sunday for the free meters. My go-to dish is always the Coreanos bowl. The portion size is good, though I don’t know how much prices have increased since the last time I’ve been a few years ago. The bowl comes with a ton of sauce and protein. I prefer my egg yolk runny, but sometimes the egg will be overcooked. I’ve also tried the chicken poppers with fries and the tacos before. The chicken poppers were good; the other two were average.
I really enjoyed my food and the staff was so sweet! I’ll definitely be back again to try more from the menu. Would’ve given it 5 stars if it weren’t for the 30 minute time limit that customers are subjected to. I understand that’s because the establishment is small they want to free up space for others, but what if it’s a slow day and no one is dining in? Does the rule still apply? Additionally, I don’t think 30 minutes is enough time to sit, relax, and take your time enjoying your meal especially if you’re dining with others. Just don’t like feeling worried about a time limit while I eat. Vegetarian options: Tofu taco and vegetarian bowl options
After trying a bunch of fusion places, I was curious how a Korean Mexican place would be. The answer? Awesome. I opted for some tacos since I was going around Boston snacking all day. I got 3 tacos. The beef bulgogi, spicy pork, and Kalbi short rib. Each unique in flavor but each delicious. The Bulgogi was super juicy and tender. The spicy pork had good flavor, and the ground pork texture was good. It wasn't really spicy though. The kalbi short rib was the best. A robust sweet and smoky flavor. I would come back for the short rib alone, but I'd really love to come try the kimchi. Parking: Parking in the area is tight.
Quick service and delicious food! I got the boneless fried chicken with yang yum sauce, and the sauce is out of this world! Sweet, a little spicy, and so flavorful. The chicken was juicy and decently crispy, best of both worlds. I also got the kimchi fries and a peach limeade. Both were pretty good, but the peach limeade was SO sweet. I drank over half, then filled the cup all the way with water, and even that was pretty sweet. But they have multiple unsweetened drink options, so next time I go, I’ll try one of those instead!
I ordered tteokbokki with vegetable dumplings. It is sweet and not very spicy. I appreciate that they added a lot of vegetables in their tteokbokki. There was no fish cake, which was unusual, but I guess it was replaced with kimmari.Food: 5/5
So glad we found this place!! Love the kimchi fritas with bulgogi beef, reminds us of our favorite place in Houston. The tteokbokki was standard goodness a biiiit spicy and no fishcakes but the tempura-ish seaweed on top was SOOO good. And the chicken taco was delicious!! The owner was very nice and doesn't speak a lot of English.Food: 5/5
It is difficult to taste Korean chicken in the United States because the chickens commonly used in the United States are older, larger and greasier than Korean ones. The fried chicken, here is the best in Boston. But boneless chicken is so-so. I recommend ordering the bone-in chicken. It's not spacious and has lots of guests but you can get the table quickly.
