Cortelyou Early Childhood Center

I am pleased with the school's curriculum for sure! Our daughter is only two, for example, and she's already learning her ABCs and letter recognition! She's always so happy when I pick her up; and, always seeks out her teachers to say hello and goodbye. Her teachers do a wonderful job of creating lessons to also do at home to provide enrichment, as well. Their administrative staff is also excellent, too. Any email I send is always reasoned to promptly and thoroughly. They are great at creating events that build community, too. I do wish photos of her were posted to the app more frequently, but I was comfortable enough to vocalize this, and it's clear it's something they're making as a goa because I do see photos a bit more often now.

I am really happy with CECC's 3K program. I was worried that school would be a hard adjustment for my son but as soon as I drop him off each morning he runs inside with hardly a look back.

Our experience with CECC has been wonderful. My daughter started CECC in Sept 2018. Before she started this school, her speech was very mumbled but within a month in the school, her words have become much clearer and she has become more vocal. The staff is great and they are very helpful and informative when it comes to your child's progress. If it wasn't for my husband's job relocating him Texas, our children would remain in that school till the very end. My family can't thank CECC enough for all they have done for our daughter. Its a great school and I would recommend taking your child here.

Our kids love their early childhood program. We feel cared for in a loving, educational and playful way. I would recommend those that value the above to reach out. I had four of the nursery teacher and loved them all. Highly recommend for smart and fun loving learners.

DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD HERE! As a previous employee of this "child care" center, to say the least this place is beyond unprofessional. I cannot speak about the rest of "Coretlyou's" buildings or schools, but I can definitely give my two cents for this specific center. First of all, the way children are treated here is beyond unreasonable. I have seen a child being pushed by the teacher as he was crying for his mother, mind you this child was ONLY 3!!! The middle aged Jamaican women who teach here have very inappropriate ways of dealing with toddlers. They are toddlers for a reason, you cannot yell at them like you do back in Jamaica. Every child has rights they are born with and should be protected. And especially protected if the parent of the child is trusting you to take care of their little one. In addition, the staff members were extremely rude and only spoke to people of their type. Overall, DO NOT send your child here its a torturous place.

To be honest this childcare center deserves 10 stars. My daughter who is 4 years old just started their PRE K program only a little under 5 months ago and she already has begun to read, do basic addition, write all of her letters AND numbers almost perfectly, count to 50, write her first name and some of her last name and let me repeat she JUST TURNED FOUR in October!! The curriculum can be challenging but not enough to intimidate the child and my daughter actually is excited to do her hw and go to school. Funny story I actually attend this program when I was a child 20 YEARS AGO I've lived in the neighborhood 22 years and this same exact center is the reason I was skipped a grade in elementary school. Its amazing that they still have the same efficiency and effectiveness over a 20 year span. I don't know how they do it but I am a VERY happy parent. It is family owned and the Francis family are very warm, helpful, active in the program and they actually care about the education of the child. I can go on and on but please call and find out for yourself!! Best of luck

My name is Jasmine and I am 11 years old. I've been going to Cortelyou since I was 2 years old. My experience here as a toddler to 3rd grade has been wonderful. I attend Hudde Junior High School now, and I know that my experience from here makes me stand out in public school. I am in the highest Eagle program class in my school as a result of my high ELA/Math NYS exam at Cortelyou. I am writing this because I was shocked to see some of these bad reviews when I am still attending Cortelyou's after-school program. I just want to share my experience with you. I hope it helps.

This school was the basis to my education and where I am today. Everything about this foundation is incredible. The faculty, the schoolwork, everything. I am now in my sophomore year of high school and all of this success came from this institution. It has a great foundation for a child's education and success. I highly recommend this school to all parents looking for a place to put their child. I miss it so much

my son has been going here since two yrs old and my daughter's in after school Program i really recommend it they get help in their homework and my son has advance alot from not speaking to over talking now . Thank you cortelyou Staff .

C.E.C.C. WAS A LIFE SAVER TO MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF BACK IN 1984 WHEN THEY TOOK CARE OF MY DAUGHTER KIMBERLY WHILE WE WENT TO WORK. THEY BLESSED US WITH TAKING GREAT CARE OF OUR CHILD AND I SEE GOD HAVE BLESSED THEM WITH LONGEVITY, AMEN. I WILL REFER EVERYONE TO THEM AT EVERY CHANCE I GET.
