Stopped by for an early dinner. Not too many tables were occupied when we arrived. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered Corn and Crab Bisque, Firecracker Shrimp, Crab Cake etc. All were quite tasty. Definitely recommend.
I had a good little time here the staff is so funny. Such a good time. We went for oyster happy hour and it did not disappoint. I think i had at least 2 dozen on my own and a hurricane or two. My friend had the gator bite and let me tell you it was BITING. Whewww I don’t think any of them finished it. Radioactive the shrimp were pretty good too. I’d go back for sure.
Our server was sweet. The food came out quick and was yummy. I really liked the Shrimp and Grits and the Cajun Egg Rolls. Kid-friendliness: High chairs available.
Not what we expected. Had hoped for authentic Cajun food. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, efficient and attentive waiter, and flavorful food but all food ordered was loaded with salt. Everything pictured plus a bowl of seafood gumbo, not pictured, was tasty with flavor, but, brine with salt!
We had an amazing dinner served right at the bar. Seafood gumbo, crab cakes on fried green tomato, oysters, and bourbon pudding. The bartender Jackson and Erick who was cranking out the oysters, were definitely the most fun and authentic entertainment in all of New Orleans! They were both attentive and we laughed the whole time. I will always come by Coterie on every Nola visit. Thank you Jackson and Erick for taking care of us and making Coterie a highlight on our visit! We hope to see you both on our next visit!
Loved this restaurant! The food was delicious…well made dishes…hot and perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. Delicious bloody Mary’s too! Wait staff was so so so friendly and welcoming, coffee was delicious and I never got to the bottom of my cup! Parking: City lots…walk in
We had a party of 4, stopped in for dinner the night before our cruise. What a fantastic place! Food was amazing! Recommend the firecracker shrimp, alligator Bites and bread pudding.... Sooooo good!!! Service was amazing as well! If we weren't leaving today, we'd head there again for dinner!Food: 5/5
**Updated review** Returned to Coterie on Monday, May 27th. Dominique was at the bar and Love was doing oysters. Then when the shift changed Vanessa and Eric were there. They were so friendly and accommodating. We ordered hurricanes which were amazing and the 2+2+2 oysters were delicious. We returned the next day during happy and had more drinks and oysters and happy hour bites. All of the food was delicious. It was hot and freshly prepared. Dominique and Love provided exceptional service and turned our bad experience into a great one. ************************** I love Coterie! I have been here many times but on Sunday, May 26th we had the worst experience ever! There were 3 of us who got into town that Sunday. We were all looking forward to going to Coterie because we love the chargrilled oysters, roast beef po-boys and hurricanes. That night it was busy and a long wait in the dining area so we went to the bar. We stood for a while because it was crowded but we saw people leaving who didn't order food or drinks so we ended up getting some seats but opted just order drinks to go since it was so crowded. When I informed the bartender we wanted drinks to go she said " give me a minute." No problem...however that minute turned into 30 mins with no water or drinks. We were later told her name was Jamie. While we were sitting, there was couple next to us who wanted to order food and drinks and offered to buy our drinks but they did not get service either. We started chatting with the guy Eric shucking oysters behind the bar. He was very nice and patient. He even informed Jamie that we just wanted hurricanes to go...still nothing. Not even an acknowledgement. Eric is the reason for the one star for service. I would have given 0 Jamie was killing the vibe and the crowd at the bar because everyone was leaving disappointed with no food or drinks. After about 40 mins we left as well with nothing. However, we said we would come back and try again another day while in town.
Seafood gumbo perfectly spiced and a bit smokey - delightful. Side salad and cocktail and wine reasonably priced. High point was Vanessa the bartender extraordinaire. She ran the bar, put in take out orders, and still provided awesome and friendly service.Food: 5/5
Visiting for a few days…. Loved this place. We were originally headed to Ruby Slipper but it was full. I’m so glad it was full. For Breakfast. I had shrimp and grits and she had crab cakes Benedict. Both were amazing. This restaurant has great atmosphere and is much nicer / more comfortable environment. Light jazz in background and generally very quiet.
