I am so absolutely thrilled with the level of service I receive today at Cottman. After spending a holiday weekend doing some research on why my transmission was acting up I decided to take it to Cottman as a friend Joe from Spectrum tires referred me and I'm SO thankful he did. I called the day before to ask when would be a good time to drop my 2011 wrangler off and Larry super kind individual said I could drop it off the next morning at 8am. So I did just that and not only was he there waiting for me the next morning, my Jeep's transmission was repaired just 5 hours later! I was expecting it to cost thousands and be without it for weeks but nope! Not even with all of the supply chain issues, my jeep was back to me SAME DAY! Larry was excellent communicating throughout and I am just THRILLED with the level of service I received today. Not only am I happy with the service I'm confident in prolonging the life of my car because god knows know one wants to buy a car during inflation. My Car broke down. A warranty company told me to go here. It was the starter...great they fixed it. 2 weeks later my car broke down while on vacation. The ground wire to the started wasn't tightened properly. Had to pay for a tow truck, $220 to a random Pep Boys and deal with the stress of being broken down in a state i knew nothing about. Submitted a claim because i have a warranty company denied my claim because it had been fixed and i should have taken it to another company. I called them to let them know this...and they were like oh i'm sorry that happened. Didn't offer anything, didn't offer to reimburse me to have it fixed. So yeah just out the 212 + the tow + the time + the original $50 i gave them as a deductible. NOT HAPPY....thought they were great but if this is how they do work and treat customers i'll find another mechanic.Service: Electrical

It is hard to find a good mechanic, especially if you are a woman. I've have found one with Cottman of Woodbury Heights. Larry is honest and extremely customer centric. They are efficient, reasonably priced and PRIDE themselves on their exceptional customer service. This was my second time I used them and i knew i could trust them to do the job right! I had a noise that sounded like I needed a muffler. My boyfriend strongly suggested I try his mechanic as all my recent experiences had been suspect. I stopped in and they agreed to check the noise for no charge. It turned out that the day before I had tires installed, during their "free inspection" they left an air flow valve or something similar open and the great honest men at Cottman closed it and sent me on my way! No Charge!! They easily could have told me anything as I'm not knowledgeable about cars. They have a new customer for all my automotive needs! They were nice, quick and most importantly HONEST!! A few months ago I had an issue with my Honda Pilot. It is a common malfunction with the vehicles and my regular mechanic recommended I take it to a transmission shop only because they weren't familiar with it but looked up the part and labor and let me know it should cost around $180. I called the transmission mechanic they recommended who gave me a quote of $200 but also let me know they wouldn't be able to fix it for at least a month. I ended up emailing Cottman for a quote and their like shop receptionist or manager or whatever called me. It could have been Larry, but I can't specifically remember. Super nice, told me they would have to look at it for them to know the cost because they code and the year of the car, bla bla bla. Told me it was free to check and to bring it over. I dropped it off and the next afternoon I get a call and he tells me that it would be $320. I asked why it was so much and he broke it down to the part being $130 and 2 hours of labor at $95 each. When I said it was more than I wanted to spend right now he became not so nice. Aside from being rude he gave me such a time telling me I was going to ruin my car if I drove it and didn't fix it. Before he called I had also reached out to the Honda Dealership in Turnersville. SO I knew that the part was $84. The dealership also quoted me an hour and 1/2 of labor totaling $288. I ended up looking into it. I bought the part from a Honda dealership in NE OEM at $54.00, read some forums, watched 2 videos, bought a 22mm deep socket and changed it in less than 15 mins. It literally would have taken me longer to put my car on a lift. I would not recommend this place because of how I was treated but also because 3 other mechanics including the dealership would have fixed it for less money. There was a chance I would have had it fixed there because they do offer financing and my credit is good but the way I was treated when I didn't immediately agree to let them fix my car and questioned the cost I really was no longer interested in giving them my business. To all the other people that had a good experience, you probably didn't question your repair OR you're not a woman.
I've had my vehicle serviced here a few times now and unlike every other mechanic I actually get it back with less problems than before. They're prompt, honest, and reliable. I've directed friends and family to go here. Skip out on your local pep boys or other sketchy auto shop that'll tell you your turn signal fluid needs to be replaced. Come here instead.
They were able to rebuild my transmission quickly and get me back on the road. Friendly staff
