Lucky to have stumbled upon County Clare Irish Inn & Pub for great food & drink in the Irish tradition. They are a gem tucked into the downtown area. Of course I ordered and loved the Corned Beef & Cabbage. Accommodating service, satisfying food, and we were blessed with a great outdoor weather & dining. Very Irish Pub style menu -- it appeared there are more drink options than food options, so many Irish whisky based drink options and where else do you find a good ginger beer? The inn side of the business seemed good, well- dressed happy people coming & going, ready for weddings and nights out in downtown Milwaukee. But we didn't visit to see the inn accommodations so can't speak to the rooms. Grab a few friends and try this Inn & Pub out for fun, or formal occasions. You will leave with a grin on your face & happy friends.
We ate in the pub on a Friday night, and had a phenomenal experience. Service was great, and food and drinks were all delicious. If you're a dessert person, do not skip out on the bread pudding - it's a dessert and drink all in one! The atmosphere was cozy; it felt like we were in a pub across the Atlantic. We're looking forward to returning to the pub, and would like to stay in the inn in the future.
I love this neighborhood pub! It is very cute and closely resembles an Irish pub I visited in Dublin. I love the bar area with all of its dark wood. It is very cozy. I absolutely love their root soup.it is so delicious. I always order a side of Irish bread and butter to go with the soup. Their bread is very flavorful and dense. It is perfect for dunking into the soup. Friends enjoyed their vegetarian shepherds pie. It was huge and it looked really delicious. There is dairy in the meal. I believe it can be made vegan as well. The hubby always says they pour the best Guinness. The restaurant is very clean as are the restrooms. Wait staff is kind and very attentive.
This review is for our four night stay at the Inn. They worked with us to fit our needs with our infant. The staff is friendly and professional. Location is perfect for downtown Milwaukee. The breakfast is phenomenal, and a great shoutout to Ben!! We sadly only had time to have one dinner in the pub, but the food is recommended as well. _____ The reason we are rating four stars is strictly the cleanliness of the room. Our feet would be black when we walked on the carpet. There are cobwebs on the light fixtures in the bathroom, and it looks like the shower head had not been cleaned in about a year. The room DESPERATELY calls for a deep clean due to the dust in the corners of the carpet and even on the couch arms and chair buttons. There were also small mold spots on the vent of the A/C. When we asked for our room to be serviced, our sheets were not exchanged out. Above all, the Inn was built in 1996, and it seems like the towels have not been updated since then. The quality of the bath and hand towels are the worst I’ve ever experienced. I considered rating our stay with three stars due to the cleanliness, but the staff and location bumped it to four.
I came in with my dad and his two friends and the service was PHENOMENAL!!!! Lauren was the most attentive server I’ve ever had. My dad and I were waiting for a while for our friends and Lauren was back and forth making sure we were okay, as well as immediately came back once she saw the other 2 arrive. She checked drinks, filled them immediately without being asked, and was an absolute JOY of a server!! I adore you, Lauren!! Keep doing great and being such a shining star for us all! You deserve a big raise!
Beautiful rooms give a classic hotel feel. Definitely not the fanciest, most updated, but love the room we stayed in. Spacious, clean, and had a jacuzi tub. It has a great pub and bar for the evening, and fresh omelettes made to order along with a standard continental breakfast in the morning.
Always great food here! Never a bad experience. Colchannon Poppers a must have!! Rest of the menu well done. Fish fry to corned beef to shepherd’s pie! Drinks and beer- great selection! The atmosphere is cozy and laid back. The bar is a nice chill space. We love coming here :
Recently moved to milwaukee, and needed to stay here for a while. Staff is very accommodating and rooms are very clean and well sized. The whirlpool tub is great and rooms are quiet and comfortable. Having a restaurant downstairs is great, and the free breakfast is great when I had the time to get it. Parking in back, off road. Overall a definite recommend for somebody wanting a quiet and safe place to stay. Safety: No gunshots, quiet place that's still close to what you want to do and where you want to go. Walkability: Bus stations everywhere, good central location for food etc. 10 minutes and you're spoiled for choices. Food & drinks: Good food, good drinks.
I've never been to Ireland, yet I can say with certainty that I experienced the warm, Irish hospitality that this hotel advertises. From the moment my stay began, I felt completely taken care of. Every day, the staff went above and beyond to make my time in Milwaukee special. They recommended certain spots, helped me navigate the bus system and introduced me to delicious food and beer. That would've been enough, but the real service came after I had checked out. My flight wasn't due to leave until that evening, so I was enjoying the day when I realized, with a panic, I had accidentally left very important documents in my room. I called the front desk, who immediately remedied the situation. They reassured me that they had what I had forgotten, no worries whatsoever. Then, my flight was delayed into the late evening. As I told the front desk this, they stepped into action and set aside a room for me, just in case my flight was completely canceled. At this point, I had checked out of the hotel. My stay was very much "over." But that didn't matter to the staff. They saw a need, and made sure it was handled. My flight did end up departing, much later, of course. But I was never worried, because I knew that if worst came to worst, I had a lovely room waiting for me with a staff of kind people who enjoy what they do. I'd stay again and again. I recommend this sweet little spot to everyone, it's the best way to experience Irish hospitality without leaving the U.S.!
Recently stayed at the hotel for two nights and had dinner one night. Restaurant and Pub get a 5 star review. Family met us for dinner the day we arrived. We had various dishes including the corned beef, Guinness stew, and cottage pie. Everything was delicious. Pint of Guinness I had tasted then other ones I have had. I would go back just for a pint of Guinness and a could fingers of the 12yr RedBreast. The hotel is another story. Definitely needs some updating and maintenance. Wife loved the jacuzzi tub but the faucet handles were loose and she thought they were going to fall off. When I took a shower, I felt like I might fall through the floor. It was denting and did not feel solid under my feet. There is also a vent of some sort under the window. In the middle of the night I could hear the kitchen employees talking and washing dishes. The carpet was old and stained. There was also just a shade on the windows that light in on the sides. All other place we have stayed we have become accustomed to black out window treatments. All employees we dealt with were extremely helpful and nice. We will definitely go back to the Pub. And if some renovations and updates are made we will give the hotel another try.
