Overall this hotel is very well kept. The staff are all friendly and courteous. The room I was in seemed a little cramped. Which I understand, you make smaller rooms to fit more so you can hold more guests. The shower was also very compact, I'm a big person so maneuverability is huge for me. This hotel is located in a concrete jungle with a lot of street parking. That alone makes navigating in and out a little difficult. Their parking is $10/day and located underneath the building. When there are a lot of guests it's hard to get in and out of the spots down there. The pool only goes 4 feet deep and shallow end is 3'6". The hot tub was pretty nice though. Food was amazing, I recommend the flatiron steak. Everything I had there was amazing but the steak topped it all. Personally, I'm not a fan of the flatiron cut but they make it work. The steak is $25 and comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes.
The area appears nice, with newer buildings and the property looks out onto the river with a wonderful veranda. Staff was polite!...but that's where the good stops. Rooms were dated, can't open the refrigerator very well because the cabinet door hits the bed, elevator is super slow, homeless living in cars along the street which is a dead end by the way, police have to come and deal with homeless, you have to pay to park, well it's not forced on you to pay for the parking but in light of the people living on the streets it's safer than parking along the sidewalk. Homeless camp just down the street on Marine Dr. that was one of many...freeway entrance had quite the collection as well. We'd never stay here again! Gets 2 stars mostly for the view of the river on the veranda.
First of all this hotel is a little hard to find. They offered us complimentary parking in the garage. We found out that each parking spacing in the garage is about 3/4 size of a compact. You can't part next to another car. Rooms have thin walls. I can hear next door people talk and their TV. I would look somewhere else for lodging next time I visit Portland.
The hotel is well kept. The parking lot is secured and I felt completely comfortable leaving my vehicle overnight compared to other hotel reviews! The people complaining about the parking being an issue need to learn how to park. We’ve there several times and have not had issues with parking.Rooms: 5/5
Our car and moving truck were stolen from the parking lot after hotel staff assured us there was overnight security. Staff let it slip that cars often get stolen from their property. Hotel manager never even talked to us. Cannot believe Marriott let’s their brand name be used for this property.Rooms: 1/5
I stay at a lot of Marriotts but feel this was the best. It didn't look like much on the outside but once we were settled...great view, good food, quiet, staff was excellent!Rooms: 5/5
Overall my stay was good compared to your average hotel. Staff - 5/5 Seriously, incredibly nice folks that are understanding and helpful. They were nice enough to help me out when my flight got delayed. Hotel amenities - 5/5 pretty standard stuff. The Gym had some good equipment. Love the fire pit outside. The food was acceptable. The pool was over-chlorinated as to be expected Hotel room -5/5 The room overall was spotless. I should know I went around the entire room with lysol wipes, just as a precaution. Everything was clean including the remote, switches, coffee pot, closet door handles, etc. Hotel room bathroom 2/5 My only gripe was the bathroom, specifically the shower. It had rust stains and foreign hairs i.e. not mine. While it was clean i did recoil at showering until I got flip flops at the store. it's one of those things that CAN be fixed or cleaned and had i not been so tired i would have asked for another room the first night.
The location of this Courtyard is within residential apartment buildings street. The apartment next door had young males loitering, drinking and being loud curbside every time I passed by. The public drinking concerned me as potential safety issue late at night. There is only a couple walkable places to get food. The hotel pretty nice otherwise. They had live music when I was there for my 2 night stay in the middle of the week. Music was loud until 9pm. Which was nice for a change but may be bothersome to some tired business travelers.
We stayed here for 1 night last minute. I booked this hotel on Bonvoy app which was very easy to do. We were in Portland celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. I must admit the gentlemen who checked me in didn’t seem to like his job. We were assigned the room next to the gym and pool on the first floor. I guess that’s only room left. All we could hear was the opening and closing of the door of gym and pool. Upon entering the room it was so cold we had to turn on the heat to bring the room to comfortable temperature. The TV didn’t work. The “chat with us” function on the Bonvoy app didn’t work. The room was smaller than I expected but looks recently renovated. When I showered the lights turned off 2X as it’s motion sensor. It scared me the first time it turned off as I was alone in the room at the time. The hotel had a power outage when we got up at 5am. Upon checking out at 6:30am the power came back on. I checked out at front desk I told the gentleman the TV doesn’t work in our room to let them know to fix it before the next guest. He just said to me “would you like your invoice printed or emailed?” Did he hear me? I know they were scrambling to address the outage. Please note the parking is $10 good parking price in Portland and it’s secured. The stalls are really really tight to the point I saw 5 cars taking up 2 spots each which irked me but I understood why.
