Craven Allen Gallery & House of Frames

Nice revolving gallery of art downstairs, pieces will vary from paintings, sculpture or photographs. A very impressive selection of artists have displayed work there. Upstairs, the walls are filled with more fine art, most of it is from local artists. The upstairs artworks share space with a tremendous selection of picture frames. Their frame selection has everything from sleek/modern/minimal to rustic/chunky/ornate.

First rate art gallery and frame selection. Staffed by friendly and helpful artists with deep knowledge of the art they sell and great intuition about framing and displaying art.

The oldest and best framing store in Durham. There is a mind-bogglingly huge selection of frames, and the staff is knowledgeable and willing to put in two cents if you ask. The art gallery is intimate, and the selections always worth a view. Big friendly dog on site is a welcome bonus to any visit.

We have used Craven Allen Gallery a number of times over the years and have always found them to be knowledgeable, professional and personable. While I have always been happy with their service, they recently helped us with a time sensitive, financially difficult situation where they went above and beyond what was expected. I truly appreciate there help and highly recommend their services.
