I completed the fly fishing class today with Jim and I am so glad that I decided to get in on this course. Jim is such a wonderfully nice and informative instructor. He never gives the impression that you are frustrating him, he is clear and concise with his instructing and he never fails to make things feel positive. I am completely new to fly fishing and feel confident enough to go out on my own and practice the techniques that Jim taught us. Although the rivers were very high and chocolate soup at the time of this post, today for the all day river instruction and fishing was one of the best and most stress free days I've had in ages. Jim enabled me to realize that this is something I am very passionate about and enjoy, while also giving me something that I can truly invest time into now during the warmer months. I never could feel as comfortable on my own as I do now without the help of this course. Cannot recommend it enough, I researched all the courses in the state and this is by far the best bang for your buck. Nowhere will you find such a great price for such a wealth of knowledge and privilege of meeting someone truly as great as Jim.

The best fly shop in Helena, and I've been to them all. By far the friendliest. Most informed. They're genuinely wanting to help you without trying to sell you the moon.

My dad and I went with a guide named Billy. He was a great teacher and just a good guy to spend a day on the river with.
