Joined for the month that I’ll be in DC and this was a great choice. So far the workouts are varied and challenging. Coach Jess has been awesome helping me modify certain movements with an injured foot. During the workout, he is quick to give encouragement, guidance and tips on form to members. Very happy this will be my CrossFit home for the next 4 weeks!!
I dropped into MPH before coming here, and boy am I glad I came here instead. This gym has fantastic coaches, good energy, and solid programming. They lift heavy and teach athletes good form, accommodate injuries and varied levels of fitness as good CrossFit gyms and coaches do. Highly recommend to experienced folks dropping in from out of town or looking for a new gym, and to newbies trying to start CrossFit on a good foundation.
I was brand new to CrossFit and started out at this gym with an intro class and then the elements class where you learn some of the basic movements used in classes. This gym has been absolutely wonderful! The coaches are amazing and really know what they are talking about. They give extremely helpful tips when you are doing the workouts and will critique your form to help you improve. The coaches also know when to push you more and help you achieve your goals. The workouts are always killer even if the main component is building strength in a specific lift, I have never left this gym not sweating. And the people here are some of the best motivators, workout buddies and friends. Everyone is extremely welcoming and pushing each other to improve regardless of if you are a beginner or experienced vet. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone whether you are wanting to try CrossFit, find a new gym or just drop in for a class. 10/10 would recommend!
I joined back in April of 2019 and I can't recommend this place enough. Being new to CrossFit I was really nervous starting out but the staff made me feel very comfortable and made sure to explain movements thoroughly. All the coaches are great and the facilities are really well kept. Great place to get a heaping helping of fitness.
I'd been going to my building gym for a couple years and was hesitant to start paying to workout but I'm really glad I did. I'm working out harder and getting way more fitness per hour here than I was solo. CrossFit DC is super welcoming with great coaches and community. I'm cheap, but I'm also short on time and CF DC is totally worth it to me. Highly recommend
Coach Amon was very welcoming and so friendly! The facilities were great and would recommend this gym to anyone dropping in :
My experience is with the H Street location specifically. I only kept a membership here for two months and then moved on to a different gym because I didn't feel comfortable with their coaching staff. I'm relatively new to CrossFit which means I need movements explained. The staff here, nearly across the board, do not offer a description of their exercise, any demonstration of the movement, and barely any feedback. Whenever I asked what the exercise meant, across multiple coaches, I was met with exasperation. 'You don't KNOW what a kip swing is?" No, and I bet I'm not the only one in this group that would benefit from at least a cursory explaination. The instructors swarm to their friends and the guys lifting big weight, leaving new people to wiggle around without instruction. Then, in the same week, two of my friend injured themselves lifting here and I dropped my membership. It's not safe or enjoyable. I like my new gym a lot more. If you're great at CrossFit, the facilities are nice and you should drop in. If you're new, go elsewhere.
I came, they welcomed me, they coached me I PRd. It was a very good experience two coaches on 15 athletes for the weightlifting part even 3 coaches. Facility is super clean and the equipment is great. Coaching as mentioned was great and professional. Thanks to the team.!!!
The coaching staff here is amazing. They are very knowledgeable and provide great instruction to reduce the possibility of injuries as much as possible. The members here are friendly and enthusiastic. They also have all brand new equipment. After dropping it at other croasfit boxes across the country and across the workd, I realize just how amazing CrossFit DC is.
I was visiting DC for a few months, and wanted to join a box. Crossfit DC was recommended by a friend. It was awesome. Great coaches and a really friendly community; they were also super accommodating towards short-term memberships.
