As a student in New Orleans for hospital rotations at Ochsner, I had a short-term lease in a studio at Crossroads in Building A for 3 months and a furniture rental with Cort that was arranged very promptly with the front office. The kitchen is a bit small and the walls are very thin but I think this is natural for older apartment complexes and especially for studio units. Their renovations have fixed the gate now which was a nice touch and the front office is exceptionally polite. As for pest control I noticed complaints from some others I saw a few roaches outside the building but none of them ever made it into my unit. No rats or any other unwanted guests. Overall a very comfortable experience and never did I feel unsafe or unattended to.
First let me say to please read all reviews that rate this apartment complex. They are very true. I have lived here for about 1 year and 3 months, only because there were no other apartments available when I needed to move. I have seen lizards, beetles, roaches, and gnats constantly. They will call pest control to handle the issue, but they seem to not take care of the problem I am sure for profit reasons. Everything is old looking in the apartment and deteriorating. The fountains and pool does no good when you have cabinets falling apart, carpet wet because of A/C issues, ceiling water damage, and no money being spent on the updating of the apartment appliances and style. The kitchen is so small. Plus who wants to cook in an apartment with roaches? Not me! Do not be fooled by the gate access. My car window was shattered and there are people who will swim in the pool and throw parties that are not residents. I have seen apartment windows busted late at night. If you are a light sleeper, good luck. I believe the last nail to the coffin was receiving a notice for lease renew. The new rent is estimated $1100. That’s way overpriced!!!!! The average New Orleans resident cannot afford this apartment price, especially for a place like this. Plus I am from AR, I have had luxury apartments for close to $600. Beautiful community and landscape with a huge golfing area. This is sad! I will not be renewing my lease because I will be moving to something more of my taste, even if the price is higher. I want to love where I stay and lay my head… BYE Crossroads.
Awesome experience! The walkthrough was very detailed and highlighted very beautiful aspects of the property. My personal favorite were the pathways decorated with gorgeous greenery and fountains. Super clean!! The staff is very friendly and you can tell they are dedicated to meeting your needs. They were so approachable and understanding. Overall a great choice!
Lived in a few 1st lake properties and the leasing office has always been below average, however Marcia and Brandy at crossroads are the friendliest people that ive encountered in the two years I've lived here. Would recommend for sure
I moved here in January and I must say the manager at the time Derrick and Shelby both did a great job getting me in a place in my allotted time frame and it was very simple. I was moving from another state and they completely worked with me with Shelby even staying late one day to show me the property. The pools are amazingly kept here as well. The young lady who serviced the pools and other parts of the zoo is one of the friendliest and hardest working staff persons I have come across. I also have a floor of good neighbors which is an added bonus. Overall, good people staffed and living in complex. My only complaint is that the kitchen space is a bit small. However, for just me, it is working out just fine. Great place to reside.
I have lived at Crossroads Apartments for 4 years. It is a great location for Food, Shopping Centers, and a large community park approximately one mile away with a 2 mile walking/jogging trail. The community is gated and have two swimming pools that are always clean throughout the year. The landscaping is beautiful and a pet friendly complex. I love the convenience of having a washer and dryer within my apartment. The staff is friendly and I would recommend this complex to anyone.
I've been living at crossroads almost a year the complex is nice on the outside. The actual apartment looks decent the kitchen looks old and the bathrooms could be nicer it looked like a rush job was done when I moved in. The management is friendly but they are very slow when it comes to fixing problems and are not very apologetic when they're in the wrong. I for sure will not be renewing my lease and my experience here has not been the best but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The office staff is amazing. Ms. Marcia and Ms. Brandy would go above and beyond to make sure their tenants are happy and come first. These ladies are the faces of Crossroads. Maintenance on the other hand needs a lot of improve. Once that is done, the apartment would be wonderful. I love my apartment though. Thanks ladies!!!!!!!!
If you want to be completely miserable and absolutely HATE where you live, deal with miscommunication from incompetent managers , and live in a mold infested apartment then this is the place for you! Imagine living in a disgusting, ignorant, rotted, and hazardous hell; that is EXACTLY what living in this place is. We had water coming down from the ceiling fan like it was a facet for approximately 5 months and they told us multiple times that the leak was fixed when it was certainly not. This went on so long that it spread and started to leak 3 or more places around the ceiling. THEN, the mold started to grow! The whole ceiling needed to be ripped out and redone which of course they did not do. All they did was paint over the mold and say it’s gone. LIES. The man told us that the stain on the ceiling that was there after they said everything was fixed, was not from the water leak the stain was not there before then 2 weeks later it starts leaking from that exact same spot. The dishwasher was rusted and rust was all over our dishes then after they replaced the dishwasher but they obviously do not know how to do something right because water leaks all over the kitchen floor when the dishwasher is running. The maintenance walks in without knocking on the door, completely rude and an invasion. The maintenance people also screwed up the wiring of our lights while trying to FIX them; but it’s not their fault when they have to work on a place as crappy and screwed up as this one. The washer and dryer were not hooked up properly when we moved in so we had to fix that as well. The A/C freezes over and doesn't cool off the apartment, which makes our electricity bill through the roof which the "higher" manager refuses to compensate us for even though we have had to call maintenance about our A/C not working multiple times. That apartment needs a whole new A/C system, a few people that work there even told us they need to replace the whole A/C system. BUT NOTHING GETS DONE! Then we see that mold is growing in our A/C vents as well. These people do not give a damn if residents are breathing in that filth; our neighbors have mold growing in their AC vents too. Which by the way made both of our allergies worse by living there. The tub constantly leaks water which maintenance came to fix and I come home to a note on the door saying it is fixed but it is still leaking. The stairs are loose, when walking up the stairs the steps move. Is that safe at all? I THINK NOT! I have never been more disgusted of a "manager" in my life. She has not done a thing to help us with the electricity bill especially since they couldn't fix the AC right the first, second, or third time they said it was "fixed". We probably had to spend a few hundred extra than we normally would on the electric bill because the AC would not get cold SINCE THE A/C LITERALLY HAD A THICK SHEET OF ICE ON THE INSIDE. The "higher" manager never returns phone calls, she's rude as ever in our opinion and has not helped us one bit. I would love to have a job where I could sit there all day and do nothing and get paid for it but some people actually have to do work at their JOB.
I was there for a little over a year 2017-2018 and I really enjoyed it. I've lived at a couple 1st Lake places and I always have a good experience. Sure, Crossroads felt a little older at times, but the space is decent, and the staff is nice and does a good job. I've been seeing a few of these negative posts lately and I feel that they do not represent my experience here. Were there days that the grounds were a little messy? Of course! Mainly, after the weekends, the holidays, and bad weather. I also made sure that I didn't throw my stuff on the ground too. Point is, it was a good place, especially given the price and the area.
