Met up with a friend for a much needed catch up and The Crown was the perfect place for that! Great food and drink at a reasonable price and loads of space to keep your distance from people while still feeling safe and comfortable. Food was delicious. Would I recommend..... Yes!!
The place was a bit busy. Food was nice. Only thing I would suggest was, the person taking the order to try and not make a mistake. As I item we wanted we didn't get. Also the server brought 1 main meal out to us while we were still eating our starter. Which we felt awkward as when the server asked should they take back the meal, we said yes as we haven't finished this.
We were served by Jade who was friendly, polite and professional. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be coming back.
Delicious food, generous portions, friendly staff. They have a locked car park with free parking and they let us park there while we went for a walk after our meal. Would recommend.
This place couldn't be in a more idyllic setting for London. Good food and wide selection of drinks. So here's the bad. I went there for lunch this past Monday and could not have felt more unwelcome. The tall slim, sour faced woman behind the bar was horrible. She started out by berating me for being unsure about my table number. She told me she was busy when I asked her to clear the mess of previous customers. When my chicken wings arrived there were no napkins in the basket. When I got up to ask her for some she simply pointed to a work station. I was really looking forward to hanging out at this great spot for the afternoon but decided to go where I felt more welcome. This woman does a real disservice to a real hidden gem. I won't be back. PS NOTE TO THE MANGER. IT WAS THE WOMAN THAT YOU TOLD TO CHECK HER BASKETS...after mine came without napkins.
Lovely pub, great atmosphere, fantastic food with great options. Staff were amazing, very polite and friendly. Especially Wendy, outstanding service! Will definitely be back soon. Kid-friendliness: Staff interacted with my little boy, very friendly Parking: Big car park! Dietary restrictions: Staff asked about all dietary restrictions
I used to love this pub but my last visit was terrible. We ordered using the app but had to go to the bar after 15 minutes because our drinks hadn't been served despite there being two members of staff and no at the bar. We ordered three meals: The steak was ok The chicken curry was bland The kids burger was vile, it had clearly all been microwaved for too long resulting in a bum so tough it needed a steak knife to cut and a burger that could have been made of rubber.
We Couldn’t believe the treatment we got. We went in on a Sunday as we normally do for a family meal. My husband a regular of 15years and myself 10years and our children got refused food!! We were told “we can’t serve some people” The bouncer the manager and bartender all very rude and unprofessional. You have brought shame to this lovely village pub and I’m sure it’s only the start of this pub going downhill!!!
Nice pub rather traditional in many ways. Makes a change going to a pub and experiencing a traditional feel. Sad that they don't do a Sunday carvery, as so many pubs do. I had to leave the pub and drive to the nearby Myllet Arms, that do an excellent carvery.Food: 3/5
What a joke. I booked breakfast for 12 people for 11am, I received confirmation emails and email reminders for 11am for 12 on the said date. we all turned up to a closed pub that does not open until 12 midday, and were told they dont even do breakfasts, what a birthday disappointment. It could not be worse. Words fail me.
