Facebook Posting Policy

The purpose of the CSN Library Services Facebook page is to communicate college and library information to students and faculty, as well as build community across the CSN population. The page is intended to remain a useful news source, a collaborative shared space and a safe digital environment for students and faculty/staff members. As part of an academic institution, we are tasked with both supporting collegial dialogue and maintaining a respectful academic environment. Therefore, while we welcome opinions, observations, and diverse points of view, CSN Library Services does not allow the following in its Facebook posts:

• Advertising or solicitation of any kind
• Defamatory comments or personal attacks
• Comments that are in violation of the CSN Student Code of Conduct or otherwise violate NSHE policy
• Profanity, offensive or illegal content of any kind

Interpretation of this guide is left to the discretion of the CSN Library Services Facebook page moderator, Web Content Team, and CSN administration. By posting to the page, the author acknowledges that posts may be deleted if the moderator, Web Content Team, or CSN administration finds they are not in accordance with these guidelines. Excessive posting that fails to meet these guidelines could result in the author’s ban from posting to the Facebook page and/or reporting to CSN student conduct officer and/or Facebook.
