The Custom Frame Shop/deVecchis Gallery has been my 'go to' fine art & poster framer since the 70's. Framing and displaying works on paper, canvas, or sculpture is an art & a craft. The pleasure of having the art you value well displayed in the best materials & craftsmanship is an enduring gift to yourself.
I "love" the one and only review here and have waited seven years to respond simply because I was extremely busy seeing my husband through a terminal illness and his demise. I own, and take great pride in owning, this business. We opened in 1969 and are still going strong!! I remember this woman vividly, she used her name in the original review, and would have reached out to her to explain her reasoning was warped, but wanted to put it in print. It's cathartic. Let's talk about her "downsides." She states the first time she came in cost less to make her a customer and the next time she received a "much bigger bill." Well, Mrs. M., the second time you came in the degrees were MUCH BIGGER than the small certificates the first time. Framing prices are figured on both size and materials - I explained that to you when I told you the costs. As for the woman feeling "obliged" to leave the work with me, she'd already stated that her first order had been a "very professional and beautiful job ... and everyone who sees the frames compliments them." Of her second job, if she had taken the time to "argue or say something," I would have urged her to go elsewhere. I'm in business for over forty-eight years because we do the highest quality archival framing possible. Then, "The lady talks too much." Really? If it were "I" doing all the talking, how would I know that her husband was just completing his residency at a local hospital, and that they were moving to New York for him to do his Fellowship at Columbia, etc., etc., etc. ?? From her review, "i don't think i'll go there again," I would say it's not because you don't have the time to "listen" to me first thing I'd tell you is to capitalize the "i", but because you would spend more time in a car or train getting here, since you live in NYC- or perhaps elsewhere since the Fellowship is over. But, if you ever do return to Philadelphia, you are not welcome here. I really do not have the time to "listen" to you. My time is reserved for customers who have better things to do with their time than to put down any business that is "very professional."
