I've never been treated so respectfully and with such kindness at a pharmacy! Tom is the manager at this CVS at 711 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix, AZ. We are new to the area and Tom couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. He helped us with using our coupons, gave us directions to our next couple errands, and even took the time to get to know us. Every pharmacy should have this level of care!
Me and my husband had a bad experience. We needed meds transfered over to this CVS Pharmacy and was told it would be taken care of and we would have our meds the following day. When we called to see if the meds were ready for pick up, we were told there was nothing in the system for a med transfer. Regardless if ur filling in for a day, at the end of the day u have a service to provide and if you can not fulfill your job description then you need to find another profession. So now my husband has to go with out meds.
The manager of THIS store signed me up for Carepass so that I could save a few dollars on a humidifier that was made by CVS. I asked if there was a cost - I was told no - and 6 months later I notice that I have been charged $5 each of the last five month. Because there is not charge at signup... he considers that "No Cost"? CVS has irrecobaly ruined its reputation in my mind because some manager is trying to hit a sales goal. Corprate America needs to stop being greedy.
This location was interesting. Right away upon arrival I noticed the security guard, also upon walking in apparently there was some drama with some local known. While I was able to get the items that I needed overall there wasn't much of a choice on some of them and the store was pretty empty, a lot of things are locked up which I understand why but highly inconvenient. Staff was really nice but because of the whole items being locked up thing I had to page for my laundry detergent pods and while checking out and getting home I noticed my pods were in there because the lady takes them to the front instead of letting you shop with them and apparently she didn't let the other cashier now and I too forgot while I was busy getting my coupon together and whatnot so that kind of sucked but we're only all human. I love CVS but this one was certainly not my favorite location.
For the time being, do not get your prescriptions filled at this CVS. They are so short-staffed that there have been at least 2 times that the pharmacy has gone without a pharmacist in the past month that I know about personally, and their pharmacy hours are only 10AM to 6PM and the drive-thru is closed. They do not answer the phone nor do they refill your prescriptions unless you physically go to the store and wait for them to fill the order whether the doctor called your prescription in, the scripts are on auto-refill, or if you place the order with the app. Also, if your prescription is "in process", there is no way to transfer it to another store. I feel sorry the staff, as they are doing the best they can with the problems they were dealt.
UPDATE 11/30/21: Move your prescriptions out of the CVS/Walgreens network and go to an independent or grocery pharmacy. It’s a corporate disaster. No technicians, overworked pharmacists, and upper level leadership isn’t fixing the problem. Not specific to this CVS, happening everywhere. UPDATE 8/22/21 4PM: STILL NO PHARMACIST - THEY NEVER OPENED. CVS - PAY A PHARMACIST 5X TO COME IN AND WORK. YOU CAN’T JUST NOT OPEN. IT IS BEYOND A MEDICAL LIABILITY. Please transfer your prescriptions to a different pharmacy. I’ve already transferred mine and am in the process of transferring my husband’s. As other reviewers have stated: long phone hold times for patients and doctors calling in, understaffed, delays in getting prescriptions filled, you only get answers if you go in person. The pharmacy technicians and CVS staff are so sweet but overworked. I personally have called the corporate office four times about this unmitigated disaster of a pharmacy. This morning 8/22/21 the pharmacist didn’t show up at 10am. It is possible corporate just didn’t schedule a pharmacist. Everyone has been waiting around to see if they can get their medications filled. People are coming in angry and no one is able to help. The store manager is trying his best and is very professional but even he isn’t getting answers from higher up.
As someone in the medical field, I really love the staff here and appreciate what they do BUT am posting this in case it can help with their SEVERE understaffing situation. The pharmacists and techs are horribly over worked and behind. The phone system either does not work, or the staff is too busy to answer the phone and you will not ever be able to talk to them unless you physically come in, and then there is always a long line. I truly hope that the staffing situation improves - otherwise I recommend that you take your pharmacy needs somewhere else…. From a time investment standpoint, I will not be able to afford wasting more of my time here if it continues.
This location needs to go out of business. Everyone is inept and it’s never open when hours say they are. They never stock anything you would want.
Took my lunch to come down for the covid vaccine, scheduled an appointment waited 10 minutes before they said they left the vaccines out and couldn’t give me a vaccine. Wasted time, could have called me ahead of time or not let me wait. Now I’ve wasted my time and still have to get my vaccine.
They never answer the phone. I've been on hold for 30 minutes now. This isn't my only bad experience here, a lady pharmacist didn't ready prescription right and filled the order wrong. She was rude about it too once I proved her wrong. She tried to prescribe something that was over the counter that had nothing to do with what my doctor originally prescribed me. For those of you who don't know, this is not within her scope of practice. Check you prescriptions very well and don't let try to prescribe you something you don't need. Not the best place for prescriptions.
