I went here for a model call and go see. The staff was very punctual and friendly. The interior was very clean and well maintained. It was also very thoughtful that they served refreshments. Lastly, the was a unique art exhibit on display.
Very friendly and helpful staff within nice environment. Went there on Friday for visa and sent it back on the next Monday. Surprised by their efficient work!
We were fortunate enough to get guidance and answers for our travel requirements from Martina in the Czech Embassy in Washington. I cannot say enough about her kind and gracious attitude. She was so helpful and so polite. Martina has that wonderful blend of professionalism and personal warmth and sincerity in her character. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Martina. I highly recommend asking to speak to Martina when needing answers or guidance from the Czech Embassy in Washington.
Terrible customer service at visa section of the embassy! Very rude tone, reply and extremely disrespectful and impatient when I asked just a few questions regarding short term visa to visit Prague. On top of that, the lady I spoke to does not seem to understand my questions well and tried to make me look stupid as if I don’t understand what is going on. Especially, when she kept repeating “as i told you” when she seemed herself not to understand my questions clearly. Seems like she tries to make callers feel as if they are begging her to issue a short term visa. Is she an angry person or rude or impatient, or does not like at all when people call her to ask questions...I don’t know what think. As I called the first time, I believe it was the same person, she answered the call in Czech language and as I don’t speak Czech language, I politely asked her ‘can I speak in English or...’ when she snapped at me saying ‘or what???’ After talking to this lady, I am rethinking whether I should travel to Prague or not because if she is the person who issues visas at the embassy, I am not sure if I want to deal with her attitude and rudeness in person since I already find her to be extremely disrespectful on the phone. Very very unprofessional! Type of service I would never expect from the embassy! Hope it will be seriously considered by embassy employers and will address her attitude when she deals with people who call embassy just to ask few questions about a visa.
I applied for my visa to live in Czech Republic at this embassy and it was a smooth experience. I showed up early for my appointment and they saw me immediately. No long lines, or numbers on a screen as I've experienced in most government offices. I was missing a document, and the representative there did not send me away. She gave me instructions to mail it to them, and she still accepted my application and began processing it. If I had to call this embassy, a PERSON answered the phone immediately to answer any of my questions.
Went to get a last minute Schengen visa. Went there on a Friday at 8:30am, was done by 8:37am! I received my passport with my visa the next Wednesday. The people who work there are professional, they don’t do small talks or try to be friendly. They just want to get the job done and that’s it. I am perfectly fine with that because it makes the process faster. If you have inquiries, you are better off sending an email than calling. They are responsive in emails than calls. Overall, I was just glad that they processed my visa so fast!
We are still awaiting our long term visa to be issued, but appreciate their thoroughness and desire to make sure everything is correct. Their emails were clear and response time prompt. Hana has been very gracious and kind as we await our long-term visa.
Nice staff and efficient work! The officers in the Czech Embassy are super nice, and we spent only 15min per person to finish the visa process, and they sent back our passports in 3 business days! Also, the location of the embassy is easy to reach by car, and there were plenty of street parking when we arrived in the morning. FYI, it's more convenient to live in the north or northwest of the Czech Embassy, so you can avoid the crowded DC rush hour in the morning.
I got my passport back with visa after 3 days! I was surprised how fast they came back. The officer, Hana was very accommodating and professional and she helped me with the process. I am so excited to travel to Czech Republic and experience their culture!
I’d give them a negative rating if I could. Absolutely the worst embassy ever. I’ve been to Czech Republic a couple of times and have always encountered warm people, so I don’t understand why they would keep such disgruntled employees at their embassy! The lady at the embassy was rude on the phone when I was trying to schedule an interview and she was worse in person. She was not only rude but demeaning. This is despite the fact that I’d arranged all my documents in order. It’s hard enough that you have to go all the way to DC to apply for even a short term visa for something that takes less than 10 minutes, and then to have to deal with such people is just terrible.
