I read all of the great reviews online before scheduling an appointment for an estimate with David, so my expectations were high. The work and service from the D. Masonry team was top notch! David was very communicative throughout the process and I highly recommend them for any masonry needs!

I met the owner, David, when he was doing some work for a neighbor. They spoke highly of the experience and the result, so I called them. And I called one other company. David showed up in time for our appointment, and his explanation of the problem 80 year old mortar in our brick house was falling out. The previous owner had gotten some of it repaired. That mortar was failing, too. I was particularly concerned because one of the pillars that carries a heavy load was cracked so thoroughly that you could see daylight through it from top to bottom. David explained why it had failed, and how the repair work someone had done years ago made matters worse. His bid that was about the same price as the other firm, but his explanation -- and the bid itself -- were so clear that D. Masonry was my obvious choice. He provided me with proof of insurance, too, a request the other company ignored. They totally lived up to my high expectations. Watching them work, I realized that tuck pointing is a highly skilled craft, practically an art form. They took the time to mix and try a range of mortar colors. With their help, we selected the one they advised. You're that it has completely dried, I can see it was a perfect color match. The pillar I was so nervous about? They elaborately jacked up and stabilized things, so they could remove the pillar, which they disassembled completely, laying out all the bricks with all the old mortar removed, so they could put them back exactly as they were, only sturdy now, and good as new. Masonry repairs -- done well -- simply disappear when the work is done, right? As long as I live here, my gratitude for this job-well-done will live on.
