First time here after eyeing the place for years! LOVED the outdoor patio area. The vibes were great out there. Think the cocktails were a little small for the price and I think I probably should have gone with another option besides the hamburger, but no regrets! Would come back.
Went to Daddy Jones tonight for dinner. The vibe when you walk in is casual with a great music playlist - perfect for you and some friends. We started off with the spanakopita delicious btw! and their Sweet potato fries that were tossed in honey and topped with feta cheese. Would’ve never thought that combination would work but it was DELICIOUS! The highlight of the meal, however, was ordering RJ’s chicken sandwich which is tossed in honey buffalo sauce, topped with bacon, and a great aioli as well. The chicken was crispy and the flavors were great. Definitely a must get item if you come here. And to make it better we got to talk to RJ himself! You can tell he put a lot of thought and love into the recipe! Would highly recommend coming for a nice night out 10/10
Honestly have been looking forward to trying this place. 3 stars because the garden patio is amazing and provides a great vibe for relaxing. However, the “large Greek salad” was such a food disappointment, I added avocado for $3 extra and received 6 cubes of an avocado.. you can literally buy an entire avocado for $2. Anyways the Greek salad I was figuring would be taverna style with cucumbers, peppers, and onions, with a big piece of feta.. nope $13 for a cucumber “salad”. I was so disappointed and pretty upset I spent $16 on 2 cucumbers and a quarter of an avocado. The gyro we also ordered was cheaper and that has meat in it, and with the meat prices right now that says enough. Next was the online ordering. We understand making it more convenient for the servers, but we weren’t able to customize any order. We also ordered the gyro and saw other people get it as well, only theirs came with a side salad and fries. We never saw that option. Another downfall of the online ordering was we never got to see the info on the alcohol, we had to individually Google each draft beer for tasting notes and abv/percentages. Same with the wine, we love Greek wine but would like more info on it rather than “similar to a Sauvignon blanc” Overall wasn’t a good experience but wasn’t a bad experience, and I don’t know if I would return. Pictured is the “large Greek salad” it was so small for $13, you can see the bottom of the take out basket
Go for Trivia night, or honestly just go for any night, or day..... Great atmosphere, food, and drinks. The Athena burger is a masterpiece and the employees are definitely what make Daddy Jones the restaurant and bar that it is today!
This place is fire. RJ served a flaky delectable spanakopita for app and a crispy, tender, juicy “RJ’s Chicken Sammich” for our main. Jose whipped up some crazy bevvies at the bar! And trivia was mad fun. Can’t wait to come back.
Not quite as good as it used to be. The service was great but the food seemed a bit pricey, over cooked, and under sauced. YouTube playing in the background doesn’t help the vibes.
This is a super cute hidden gem in Somerville. I love their gyros and tzaziki. It's cute inside too, definitely suitable for a date. In the summer it's fun to sit outside and get frose! They also have bingo on Tuesdays which is a super fun weeknight activity!
Daddy Jones Bar exceeded my expectations. They have a good selection of beers, creative cocktails, food was excellent, good music and decor. Had the bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer and Chris’s burger and they were both great. Chris’s burger is a bit spicy due to the Sriracha. I also tried the Pastistio and it had great flavor. Can’t wait to come back and sit in the patio during Spring and Summer.
Dinner with friends last night on the patio. Atmosphere was great! I had the gyro and salad, delicious. My friends all enjoyed their meals very much. We ended dinner sharing cheesecake baklava, so good!! Also drinks were really good. I was looking forward to the mastica margarita but tried what everyone else was drinking, I forget the name but it was purple, really good. Can't wait to go back!!
I saw Daddy Jones Bar featured on Food Network and now that I come up to the Boston area relatively regularly, I knew I had to give this place a shot. The location is nice. It is a relatively small bar with street parking. Lots of people inside and seemed like a fairly young crowd. Aside from seating at the bar itself, there are several tables high tops, making for adequate seating. Their signature burger, the one featured, is the Chris Burger. It is a spicy burger with spicy mayo, Siraccha, bacon, pickle and cheddar on an English muffin. Sounded just like what I was in the mood for. I ordered the burger .... when it came out it looked and smelled delicious. The fries were seasoned nicely, and the burger obviously had a nice char on it. I grabbed the burger, took a bite, and was all smiles .... it was awesome! It's what I like from a burger, hot, charred, well seasoned and the juices dripped down my hand. My only "critique" is that the English muffin was very lightly toasted maybe just put on the grill, and could have used a little longer time being "toasted". This bar appears to have a Greek influence and the menu reflects that. They offer gyros, other burgers and other selections as well as dessert. I am a big fan of gyros, so I'd like to give them a try too.
