I thought I had been to every Mexican bakery in Salem. But I just found this One! Super nice guy running the store. The filled cake was super good. Empanada was pretty regular. Fair selection, but not huge.
This is the worst bread I’ve ever seen, hard and no flavor. It used to be the best in Salem but now are the worst! Do not go here!
Did they get new owners? The bread doesn't taste the same at all. 2nd time getting them since the name change and the bread is still dry and hard. Not like before soft and delicious. So very disappointed. They were the only place I liked the bread from.
I ordered the cake a week in advance. When I went to pick it up at 11:30 I was told it wasn't done because they didn't have a time on the slip. Nobody asked me for a time to pick up. I waited for her to assemble and decorate the cake. After getting it home I noticed that it was obvious that it had been done in a rush. You could see cake on the side. And the writing looked like a child did it. Partly because she didn't add the exclamation point on the end. Guests commented on that. But the worst part was while serving it One of my gusts told me that there was paper in it. Only to find out that there was a layer of wax paper left under the cake you could not see it under the cake. I paid $65 for this cake. The flavor was good however I will probably not be buying another one there.
Upon calling in and easily placing an order for a 1/4 sheet Tres Leches birthday cake the gentleman on the phone was wonderfully helpful, and gave excellent customer service..thank you! We picked the cake up the next day. It was beautiful. One of the most delicious cakes we have ever had! Thank you Daisy's Bakery for helping make this birthday special!!!
I would like to HIGHLY recommend Daisy’s Mexican Bakery. I went in today in the feeble hope that the Holiday might have had them make an extra Milhoja cake. As I expected, you have to order a day ahead. But the young man behind the counter was so great I decided to buy an empinada for the road. I got into Market, took a bite, and turned around to go buy pastries for tonight’s party instead of a cake. His parents started the business 20+ years ago. I’ve lived in Salem my whole life and never got back there it’s off Lancaster and not easy to see. He really seemed like a great guy and his mom was back there baking away. While great service is a plus, the most important thing is the product which was, likewise, excellent. If you enjoy Mexican pastries and desserts, give them a try!
Super sweet people! Just picked up ans amazingly aromatic tres leche cake for my son's birthday. Can't wait to try it! ......Just finished the cake and it was amazing!!!!
Mexican bread is freshly made in the morning, at noon and at 4pm. It's so warm and delicious. It's also inexpensive and tres leches cakes are delicious! Just order it, and it will be ready in one day.
I love supporting Mexican bakeries pretty much everywhere I go and this place whole small and unassuming has everything you need. Pan dulce and birrote or bolillo as well as drinks, snacks, and some other small kitchen goods. The cashier who was there was a funny and nice señora who made me feel like I was related to her. Prices are good and the pan is delicious.
I order a Tres leches cake, 2 months ago, I told one of the ladies to please make it very moisture and wet... and dude when I tried the cake was hella good and super wet... all the milk was coming out! It was a mess.. I loved it!
