Known for designing refined spaces with bold gestures, Dane skillfully balances past and present, bold color and calm neutrals, daring and relaxed. He creates comfortable, playful interiors, rooted in the past with a nod to the future, while maintaining a sense of humor and comfort as the ultimate luxury. His signature rich colors, multi-era furnishings, and provocative artworks can be found in high-end private residences and small commercial spaces across the country. His trademark approach to design has brought to life inspired interiors infused with style, whimsy, and sophistication.

Dane Austin embarked on his interior design career as a graduate of Washington, DC's Corcoran College of Art + Design, with classical training from the renowned Sotheby's Institute of Art in London and the Institute of Studies for Superior Arts in Paris. After several years with a reputable Georgetown designer specializing in traditional, high-end residential interiors, Dane launched DANE AUSTIN DESIGN in 2009, dedicated to giving clients a range of design possibilities that fit their lifestyles, from traditional to contemporary and innovative.

Dane is an associate member of the International Interior Design Association - IIDA, and an allied member of the American Society of Interior Design - ASID. He is the Chair of the Fenway Health Art Advisory Board and a past member of the Board of Directors for ASID New England. His work has been featured in New England Home Magazine, Home & Design Magazine, Design New England Magazine, Refine Home, and The Washington Post. In 2015, he won the Excellence in Design Award from ASID. He lives in Boston with his husband Joshua and their two dogs.
