Dr. Hansen has been my primary doctor for three years already. She is amazing! I like her very much. This year, my husband, despite his fear of doctors, came to see her and fell in love. Dr. Hansen is a true professional. She doesn’t pretend listening but is genuinely interested in hearing your complaints and ready to answer all the questions. Dr. Hansen creates a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere during a visit, being comprehensive and competent at the same time. I am delighted that I have met Dr. Hansen and have recommended her to all my friends.
Dr. Hansen has been the best primary doctor I've had in my life. She's communicative, comprehensive, competent, and attentive. Also, in regards to some of the comments about staff, I believe she has made changes to her office staff in the last year. They are great.
I have been to 3 or 4 doctors in DC and never returned to any of them, but Dr. Hansen is absolutely wonderful and if I were staying in DC she would for sure be my primary doctor. She was so personable and friendly and made me feel very comfortable being honest and open. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with everything I asked about and I highly recommend her if you're looking for a primary doctor in DC!
Always a great experience. The staff is professional and friendly. Happy to have Dr. Hansen as my doctor.
I've been with Dr. Hansen for years, and she is absolutely wonderful. I also super-appreciate all the staff in the office. The PA Amy has been wonderful, as is Ms. Weaver at the front desk no relation. In this age of phone trees and press 1 to stay on hold two more hours, finding an office where patients are viewed as people is an absolute treasure. I am so very, very grateful to have a doctors' office that lives up to the highest standards of the profession.
I have been a patient with Dr. Darcy Hansen for over 15 years. Since my very first visit she and her staff have been extremely professional. They are a critical part of keeping me healthy both mentally and physically. She has always been available to listen to my symptoms and create an action plan or path that best fits my sometime turbulent job and world. I would recommend her and have recommended her to my friends and family.
Insurance billing malpractice — Dr Darcy Hansen has been my primary care doctor since I moved to DC in 2011. Her practice slowly but surely deteriorated over the last few years and I kept reminding myself to find a new primary care doctor but I keep procrastinating this my own fault!!. Her admin/office support staff renews every so many months which has resulted in many rounds of lost insurance information, lost lab results, I have even showed up to appointments that were “canceled” when I arrive, to now this last time they were apparently trying to get a hold of me on a phone number which I haven’t had since 2012. Last incident is her doing Tele appointments but not treating these as “real” appointments but for sure billing my insurance as a regular office visit. My last tele appointment was necessary to receive a prescription refill a refill I still to this day have not received almost 3 months later even though I have called the office numerous times and tried to explain. They informed me I need to come in in-person and be billed again of course, I show up but my appointment was apparently canceled I was not notified So 3 months later still not remedied, I had to go cold turkey off of a medication that is listed as very dangerous to stop taking without weaning off of properly. She as a doctor should know what risk this imposes. Unethical, unprofessional and zero accountability towards a patient she has had for over a decade.
Dr. Darcy is absolutely amazing! She goes above and beyond to make sure her patients are provided with care that specifically correlates to each individual's need! 10/10 would recommend!
Agreeing with the negative reviews about the staff. Booking an appointment is a nightmare. 2 negative calls with 2 different representatives in under 10 minutes. Seems like a place with poor morale and working environment, not just someone having a bad day. As a very basic starting place try, "Hello Dr. Hansen's office, can you hold please?" rather than a mumbled "putting you on hold". Hard to speak positively or negatively of Dr. Hansen if you can't even get through the front door.
Excellent, personal care. All extremely competent staff in the office. Easy to book appointments- a real person answers when you call! Great nurse practioners, too.
