Story

David H. McDaniel, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Co-Director of the Hampton University Skin of Color Research Institute, Adjunct Professor in the School of Science, Hampton University, as well as the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences for Old Dominion University. In addition to his dermatology training, he has special experience in physical chemistry, pathology and dermatopathology, botany and emergency medicine.
He is the author of over 75 scientific articles and book chapters, primarily concentrating in the field of laser cosmetic surgery, antioxidants, and anti-aging medicine. Dr McDaniel is named as inventor or co-inventor on many patents. Dr McDaniel helped pioneer the science and theory of LED photomodulation. He serves as Director of the Institute of Anti-Aging Research as well as the Laser & Cosmetic Center. More recently Dr McDaniel has been involved in the testing and also the development of several new antioxidant skin care products as well as research related to extending lifespan and healthy longevity.
Dr McDaniel has been selected by his peers to be included in The Best Doctors in America for 2009-2010 for the 15th year in a row. He is one of the expert voices quoted in popular magazines such as O, Elle, Vogue, Allure, Essence, Time, Forbes, as well as by major media such as Good Morning America and the BBC. Dr. McDaniel also serves as president of a non-profit charity, The Center for Disfigurement.
