I’m a professional violinist in the area and am picky about my violin work and bow rehairs. Jason did a great job on both and was reasonably priced—my violin has never sounded or looked better. Highly recommended!
After a year away from fiddling, I realized how much I missed it and needed to get a new violin. The staff were very helpful, let me play a few violins in my price range in a private room, and just overall made the experience very pleasant. Everyone there was very nice and accommodating!
Very helpful and kind! Jason immediately helped me with a bow rehair. They also knew their stuff! I look forward to working with them in the future! So happy to have a good repair shop close to me.
Davidson Violins is wonderful! The owner, Frank, and everyone who works there are knowledgeable, honest and kind. They take the time to find the best instrument and solution for you. I am a violin teacher in the area and have been very impressed with their service. By far the best in the Charlotte area. Highly recommend!
Great shop and staff. Always helpful! From our initial shopping experience for a cello, to repairs and most recently, Jason helped me to pack and ship the cello to my daughter in grad school! I couldn't recommend Davison Violins more for your musical journey.
Frank and his staff are amazing. They will make sure you get the right instrument and it will sound just perfect. Don't want to buy one? You can rent and give it a try. Best violin shop in the area. By the way, they just moved to a better location, just crossing the street from Davidson's College, with bigger space and soon personalized classes for pretty much all ages.
I am so grateful for Davidson Violins. As a string educator in the area, I know that when my students rent from Davidson Violins, they will have high quality instruments and repairs. This is essential for beginning and experienced string players alike. We are so lucky to have a dedicated and specialized string shop servicing our schools and private students.
Outstanding, reputable company. Manager Frank Albert was knowledgeable about the product and a great help in correcting, honoring, and expediting an on-line order for a Carlisle hard shell cello case. Case was ordered on a Wednesday and was received early morning on Friday, though we are 800 miles apart! I highly recommend Davidson Violins!
Frank is The Best! I play the acoustic string Bass in symphony and church groups. My husband bought me an electric stand-up bass for me to accompany a traveling singing group, where I always play pizzacato. We bought the cheapest one, with a good sound. Unfortunately, every time I played more than one song, the cheap bridge flew off again and again. Tried contacting Music n More where we purchased bass. The Chinese company that made this bass would not answer any messages anyone sent. Frank took this on as a project, spent endless time trying different solutions, cello bridge, modifying other bridges, etc. Finally he modified my bridge slightly, making grooves where the strings go. This turned out to be the perfect solution. Haven’t had an issue since. While we were working endlessly on this for several weeks, I decided to electrify my acoustic bass to hook up with the amplifier to play in other groups, since I was often the only bass playing concerts, needed more volume out of bass. Frank installed a great reasonable pickup on my acoustic bass in a timely fashion. Now I can play either bass, depending if I am playing classical, pops, old hymns, or golden oldies! Like I said, Frank is “The Best!” Many, many thanks!
Walked into the brand new Pineville location off the street one day this summer while I was in Charlotte for work. Now I'm just a poor fiddler, not a violinist, but I'd been looking for a new bow. The staff let me play ten or more bows on a beautiful and expensive violin, then put three of them in a case so I could take them home and play for a week, and show them to my teacher. When I came back the following week I met the owner and we had a long conversation about music and the meaning of life. I ended up with a terrific bow that sounds great on my fiddle. Very happy and I'll be back when I'm in the area.
