I visit the 2121 Juan Tabo location and I have always had a good experience. I really like my Doctor, she is very kind and seems genuinely concerned when you have issues, I do not feel rushed at all. My blood pressure seems to go down when we chat ha! Anytime I have made an appointment it has never been very far down the line and they are able to see me quickly. When you sign in at most it has maybe been a 10 min wait, so not bad at all. The few times I had to call customer service about my referral questions they were quick to get me the information I needed as well. Even after I switched insurance companies I still decided to make these guys my primary. Thanks Optum at 2121 Juan Tabo!!!
The absolute worst. Incompetent phone staff. Refused to see me to prescribe a medicine needed for travel my wife's primary care provider had no problem doing the same for her. Instead referred me to an out-of-network clinic. Find anyone else if you can.
I originally started working for Lovelace when the Gibson facility was still a hospital and stayed when Ardent took over, then ABQ Health Partners, then Davita. I retired with over 18 years. Since OPTUM Customer Service is HORRIBLE. The MyHealth app is a joke!! No one responds or calls back. Looks like a new health plan for 2023!!!
This place is not LGBTQ+ friendly. Or people friendly in general for that matter. On the one hand, the person who drew my blood today was fantastic. Smooth about the process, easy to talk to etc. On the other hand, the worker that processed me in was very poor mannered. This white old man basically caught me outside the building and rushed me in as if I was late when I was actually early, practically yelling at me and no, he wasn’t deaf, he could hear me just fine, and asked me what I go by, at which point I gave him my initials to make it easy for him, since it was clear to me that he wouldn’t be able to handle my actual preferred name, but what do you know, two letters were still too confusing for him because he just went right back to referring to me by half of my legal first name instead why bother asking? He had a very arrogant behavior and not much to show for it. Made me feel like cattle. I really hope for everybody’s sake that this man isn’t a doctor... After my blood was drawn, I was left to find the way out for myself. The small building felt very busy and crowded. No regards for social distancing or masking, which I find embarrassing for a medical facility.
Terrible. They don't care about you or your health. They are just in it for the money. Their doctors are never consistently at the practice which means you can't get your prescriptions if your doctor suddenly leaves. Other doctors take vacations for multiple weeks at a time so they can't refill your prescriptions either. Superviser likes to blame patients rather than take responsibility. It's no wonder they change names every 3-4 years when someone else buys them out - they don't know how to do anything effectively or consistently. Seek healthcare elsewhere.
I REALLY like my nurse practitioner here, Jacquelyn Reeve, which is good, because there's no chance of seeing a doctor. She really listens and seems to care about me, and she spends enough time with me and listens. AWORD OF CAUTION: DON'T SELF-PAY if your insurance hasn't kicked in yet! I don't know if the billing practices have changed since Optum took over, but when it was DaVita I had to self-pay because my husband's new employer hadn't gotten our insurance in the system after 1 1/2 months, and I really needed to be seen about my throat. Long story short, 3 1/2 years later I finally gave up on getting my $176 back because the billing folks NEVER billed insurance since I had already paid. Insurance is out of state, wouldn't accept my filing for reimbursement. I called and asked them at least 4 times, talked to supervisors, etc., and it NEVER got billed to my insurance. >:
I was trying to return a call. Their automatic system put me on hold. An hour and 20 minutes later no one had bothered to pick up. Last month I did manage to talk to people but everybody I talked to gave me contradictory and inaccurate information. This place is totally incompetent. Edit to add: And now they have screwed up the date and time of my most recent appointment and then screwed up my prescription refills again, four times so far. 1. Request during PCP visit, told prescriptions sent to pharmacy, but only got two of them. 2. Requested remaining three prescription refills from pharmacy. Optum ignores this request. 3. Called Optum to make my third request. Prescriptions sent to wrong Pharmacy. Pharmacy able to get two of the prescriptions from the wrong Pharmacy but not the final prescription. 4. Called Optum again to explain their screw up and request fifth prescription again. Told that request would be sent to PCP again with note about screw up. Still no response.
Always a wonderful experience! The staff is always friendly and helpful. I have been going here for about 17 years now and this is where I feel comfortable even though I have changed Primary Care Physician's in the past. Everyone makes you feel welcome!
Saw NP Matthews and honestly doctors like him are the reason people hate going to the doctor. Rushed me, didn’t let me talk. You could tell he couldn’t have cared less about what was going on. Didn’t even really get to explain why I was there and I’m not sure he would’ve done anything if I had. I’ve lived all over this country and in 31 years and 8 states and seen a lot of horrible health care providers but this one was the absolute worst! How does he still have a license?
This was my second time having to wait in excess of 40 minutes for a routine birth control appointment. They took multiple patients back ahead of me that had later appointments than I did. I arrived 10 minutes early in an attempt to be respectful of their time, but they did not give me this same courtesy. I imagine it is their attempt to shame me for seeking bodily autonomy, and I can guarantee that I won't be back.
