Deanwood Recreation Center and Library

Today 6/17/22 the slide is closed and the waterfalls are not in service today. Last week the middle section of the pool was closed because the floor was peeling, Now Was it fixed? I don't know because today it's open. Why are the waterfalls not on? When will the slides be in service? And will the floors be fixed this fall or winter?

What a really great place!! Clean, professional, fun and safe! Just lovely!! Went to a neighborhood event here Friday 8/27/21 they had food, live music, kickball, face painting, doubledutch, cheering it was so nice!!! There is also a wonderful exhibit MEN OF CHANGE please if you get a chance stop by. Kudos to the city! I see the positive.

Nice community workout room!

I have used it several times and I always am able to use the work out facilities. The staff is great, but I do agree that the security is kind of a joke. I have only been asked once to show my my ID contrary to the 100% ID check sign at the front desk, and the kids kind of run amok in the evenings - but they're teenagers and I think their main goal in life is to annoy adults. Other than that, it is a beautiful facility. I enjoy it and what they have available to the community. The support staff in general are all very nice and helpful. I will continue to take advantage of their programs and services as long as I'm in the area.

Very nice faculty with several options. Visited the library & senior room. Security personnel would be ambassadors if they were willing to move from theirs seats behind desks and stand to greet people. I'm very excited to this rec.

Deanwood Recreation Center and Library is a large center right across the street from the Deanwood Metro Station. The building itself is closed due to the pandemic, but the playground outside is open certain hours. I took my toddler there and she loved it. There's a big slide, swings and climbing stations that build confidence in children. It's gated and protected well.

As far as the facilities go this place is a real beauty. From swimming in the pool to playing basketball in the gymnasium all facilities are well equipped for everything you need to enjoy yourself during your stay here. The only thing is that the location of the recreation center is in a bad neighborhood so you might come across disturbances while your there.

Very nice recreational center. Quite beautiful even. But the people here are very ghetto. At least that was my experience when I went and that was just one time. So it may not be like that all the time. Although, I have no plans to ever return.

I Love the Deanwood Recreation Center swimming pool and fitness center! The staff is very nice and friendly. The staff does a "GREAT JOB" following the Covid-19 protocols! I had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Marsha Brown the supervisor for this center and she was very helpful in helping me meet all of my needs when I visited. The lifeguard staff is very professional and knows there roles while in service. I was Happy to get a chance to speak with aquatic manager as well very nice, patient, professional, understanding, an kind Gentleman! Warm Regards Deanwood Staff! IMPORTANT NOTES FOR DEANWOOD POOL: 1. The pool can only be accessed through the closest entrance due to Covid-19 protocols. 2.The Pool Is Closed from 1PM- 3PM For cleaning and staff training.
