By far the best experience I've ever had with a mechanic. Matt was very laid back and easy going. I'm not a mechanically inclined person, so for him to understand my nonsense and figure out what was wrong with my truck was awesome! He was very upfront about the price to fix my truck. Even broke it down I into parts and labor.
What I really appreciated about the whole experience was really that he did NOT use that "doom and gloom" tactic. You know, the one most mechanics use. "You need to fix this or it could cause big problems down the road." I dread that because I'm unsure about it so I get it. Then I take it to my mechanically inclined dad who says "You know that was fine right".
Even though I've only interacted with Matt the one time, I could tell he has great care for his clients. From being upfront and honest with price. To the effort he puts into his work, got my truck back the same day. The kids room absolutely stocked with toys!
I will gladly come back to Matt and Delaware Automotive Service again!

Matt has worked on our cars for 2-3 years. It was by chance I found him and am so thankful we did. I have the worst luck with vehicles yet Matt saves the day every time!!

Well, I hate to be the first one to say anything negative but this is my review and it is blatantly honest and truthful. Matt is very knowledgeable about his profession and definitely knows what he is doing. He is operating a very busy business. However, apparently he is to busy to keep his word and prioritize my vehicle to work on and get it back to me in a time he said he would. I have a blown engine and have been without my vehicle for a month. I got the rebuilt engine for it last Wednesday. In the course of the past week I have been told "I have days blocked off (Wednesday and Friday)to work on your car only" which didn't happen and he worked on other vehicles instead. I was then told "I will come in on Saturday and even Sunday and work the whole day on it and I will have it back to you by the end of day Tuesday" which hasn't happened. I was told when I called him this morning(Tuesday) to enquire as to whether it would be ready to pick up today "probably not and that he was working on other peoples cars so that he could keep his shop running and that he wasn't making any money on my car." Bottom line, he is taking other jobs in front of mine and I feel like he is treating my vehicle like it's just a side job that really doesn't matter to him when it gets done. I ask him for a firm day on when my vehicle would be done and after a few moments of silence he finally said he would have it ready to pick up Thursday morning. I won't hold my breath on it but I will report back on Thursday and inform you of whether it got done. Until then I guess I will just have to say "To Be Continued". If I get it back Thursday I might change my rating but until then I guess it remains 3 stars.

Professional and honest. Matt will give it to you straight and won't try to swindle you in any way, shape, or form. Does all the usual mechanic shop goodness, from oil change / inspections to full repairs/replacements. Have gone several times now, and have had a good experience each time. (One particular instance of note was one where no issue was found despite a thorough inspection, overnight keeping, etc. He didn't charge me a dime.) Highly recommended.

Easily my best consistent experience with a mechanic. We've been using DAS for all our vehicles since a year after moving to Delaware. We tried other services in town, and they all compare to just about every other mechanic we've used in Columbus and elsewhere. But DAS gives expert service at VERY reasonable prices.
I've had issues diagnosed by another mechanic in town, then gone to DAS and gotten the same service for less money (without DAS even knowing the other quote). I've also learned from DAS that another mechanic's diagnosis was excessive, gotten the more-limited repair from DAS, and had no further problems with my vehicle. I never feel lied to or cheated. I always feel like DAS cares to give me good value.
I can't say enough about DAS. I recommend them to everyone, and I seldom recommend anything to anyone (except for NeilMed's nasal irrigation products--a must for people with allergies). I'm very grateful for DAS.
