Media Courthouse is the heart of Media. The entrance on Front Street is used mainly for court cases and hearings. Tax bills ,property and dog and other licenses are in the entrance off Second Street and Orange. Parking is street parking and some parking in courthouse garage, they are working on the surface lot at Orange and Front now. Be advised to check it is not a county or federal holiday before making the trip. If there is lots of parking when you arrive they are probably closed ; ie Good Friday, Thanksgiving, etc.
My experiences at this courthouse were primarily custody related. Three years after my experience I can say I still think of the Judge who handled my custody case. She accused me of threatening her by saying "I hope you can sleep at night" based on the poor decision she had reached - very clear I was not threatening her and I was coming at her conscience. I guess *how dare I* disrespect her decision and *insult her power* Granted, she deserves respect as an "Honorable Judge" -- however, I did not treat her with that respect as she could not treat me as a human being. To get respect you must give it in my opinion. If possible, which I understand most of the time it is not if you are a Delaware County resident; avoid this place. If you can reach an amicable agreement outside of a courthouse setting; please do. They even have documents online which you can have notarized. That is the direction we went and everyone in my situation is very satisfied.
As I 100% support protecting anyone and everyone. Who needs help and protection from actual domestic abuse. However judicial support and the court of common please in Delaware county. Are completely incompetent and lazy. Complete lack of investigation and completely ignorant people it makes me sick. The plaintiff gets all the free legal aid they need. While the defendant and yes sometimes the innocent defendant is left with nothing. To be told hire a lawyer or represent yourself. I can tell you a thousand different ways to apply for a PFA. However I can not tell you how to defend yourself against a false PFA. Or how to defend yourself. From a tactic that is used constantly unfortunately. And that tactic is the Silver bullet tactic. If not familiar look it up. I can't even it makes me that sick.That is unless you are a lawyer and can represent yourself. Or you have the money to hire a decent lawyer for 2000.00. i guess my bad with a family of four. I didnt think to save money towards a PFA defense attorney. Someone please shine some light on this absolute disgusting systems. How many people have lost everything. Because of a PFA that should have never been approved in the first place. And to all the men and women suffering and survivors my heart goes out to you and your families.
I have always found those who work at the court house are very n8ce and helpful.
This is where justice goes to die. Judge Muskrat Love is incompetent and/or lazy…actually saw her give a restraining order to the wrong person because she couldn’t be bothered to get an interpreter. People need to get out and vote because when you don’t this is the ineptitude you’re stuck with.
Jury duty is incompetently run and takes way too much time. Even if you were on a panel and not chosen as a juror you’re forced to go back to the room and wait for an unknown amount of time, getting berated if you ask when you can finally go home
Courthouse staff is polite and helpful. Skip the food truck out front. Ordered and paid for combo but didn't get the pretzel. Hot dog was almost warm. Soda was cold but exploded when opened. Cookie not worth the price.

Make sure you have water and snacks. Especially if you are going to be there more than an hour also make sure you have a phone charger and something to keep you busy while waiting
