Dennis Drenner Photographs

Dennis was an absolutely wonderful photographer! I originally met him through a friend's wedding, and was so impressed with his work that, as soon as I was engaged, I called to ask about his services. Dennis not only managed to work within our budget, but he also agreed to leave the Baltimore area and travel to our wedding venue in Charlottesville. His photos are gorgeous and perfectly capture the event, and he provided them to us very promptly after the wedding, even though it was mid-holidays! I can't recommend Dennis highly enough--he was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day.

Hiring Dennis was one of the best decisions we made planning our wedding! We met Dennis several months prior to our wedding and he talked us through his approach to wedding photography. My fiancé and I were impressed by Dennis’s portfolio and professionalism. On our wedding day, Dennis was terrific. I didn’t want to spend a lot of time taking posed pictures, so he quickly guided our bridal party and family into the perfect shots. Our pictures turned out beautifully. I especially loved all the candid photos he took of our guests. I could not be happier with Dennis and his photographs!

We recently hired Dennis to came to Colombia to photograph our wedding. During this period he did an engagement shot, captured the entire wedding/reception and did a photo-booth during the reception. I could be happier with these photos! Dennis is an amazing photographer – He is an artist with light and is incredibly talented at capturing absolute joy!!! Working with Dennis was also a pleasure. I really appreciated that Dennis has been easy to work with a lovely person and very prompt, particularly planning a wedding from a distance we are based in Australia. For us it was an added bonus that he is also bilingual English/Spanish. I couldn’t recommend Dennis highly enough!

Dennis did a spectacular job with our wedding pictures. He captured so many candid moments that we were not even aware of and it was a joy to look back on the memories. He made us both feel comfortable with the process so that every shot looked natural and genuine to that moment in time. I was fortunate enough to work with him prior to the wedding so I knew we were in good hands. I fretted over every detail of the wedding, except the photographs, because I knew they would come out beautiful and they did!

I've gotten the privilege of working with Dennis twice. The first time was with one of my closest friends weddings in which he was the photographer for. He was so easy to work with at her wedding, and you really didn't notice he was even there! Which is great for those looking for the photojournalistic style of wedding photographs. Her pictures turned out incredible!!!! Especially since the groom is camera shy I know because I took their engagement photos. It was so great to see all the moments he caught. Then came time for my wedding. I started on the journey of looking for a wedding photographer. There are so many choices out there, how do you choose?! And prices seemed extremely expensive for so many of the photographers we were on a tight budget, and they all seem good, but some of them had too many of the posed shots that we didn't want for our wedding. It sent me into a panic attack, so I called my friend. She really recommended Dennis. "And he rides horses!". I'm a huge horse person, so right there was a good reason to contact Dennis. Right away he put me at ease more so than any other photographer that I contacted in our price range - we didn't contact that many and he was the first to respond. Dennis is very laid back, but EXTREMELY professional. He really works with you to get the photos you want. He was so easy to work with, and helped us through things when we had questions and was very honest with his answers. His beautiful wife is his co-pilot, which is great! She helps him with the reflectors for your portraits and even helps take some candid pictures since Dennis can't be everywhere at once, even though he seems to be! My husband and I got along really well with Dennis, he has similar interests to us besides photography. We enjoyed hearing about some of the medical missions he got to be the photographer for. we are both in the medical field and enjoy working overseas. On the day of the wedding, Dennis showed up on time to the hotel we were all getting ready for, bounced between the brides preparing room and grooms preparing room. I had really wanted photos of us getting ready. None of us girls had any issues with him being there in the room with us. We actually really enjoyed his company and I think all of our gross nursing stories kept him entertained. When we got to the venue running a little late from the hotel, and I started having an anxiety attack because one of the false eyelashes the makeup artist put one started coming loose and off, Dennis was able to help point out that we don't have to wait for someone to come back with glue, that we can still take the portrait and family photos with it like that because you can't tell and won't be able to tell in the photos. That calmed me down and allowed me to finish putting my dress on and go do the photos before all the guests arrived. Dennis's goal for the posed photos, is get them done quickly and move on and back to the party. And that was exactly what we wanted. We wanted the photos in the moment, especially since my husband is also a camera shy guy. We couldn't have been happier with the photos! Dennis did such an incredible job! He caught all the important moments and made sure he had photos of all the important people in our lives that were at the wedding. And you really didn't notice he was there, and that is part of the reason why he gets these great candid shots that really show the true person in the photograph, because they don't know they are being photographed. This was exactly what we wanted and what we got and we couldn't have been happier! Even after the wedding, Dennis has been a joy to work with and we have been so glad to have met him and have him as our photographer. You really cannot go wrong with this decision.

I can't recommend Dennis enough; working with him couldn't have been any easier and we're completely thrilled with the results. We were immediately drawn to Dennis' work, to his photo-journalistic style, to his gorgeous portraits, and--most important to us--the candid shots that really captured the spirit and unique energy of each event. His photos looked like something you'd see in a magazine accompanying a feature, and not at all like typical event photos. We didn't need to browse through his portfolio for long before we knew that we wanted to work with him on our wedding. Logistically, working with Dennis couldn't have been easier. He spent time talking to us about our ideas and our vision, and communication was great throughout the whole process. On the day of the wedding, he and Karen were both extremely nimble, always there to capture a moment without ever being obtrusive. And once everything was wrapped up, he was very quick to deliver all of the files. I would recommend him without any reservations at all.

Dennis could not have captured our wedding any better! We are thrilled with the pictures and the emotions he was able to convey through them. His photo-journalistic style captured moments that I wasn't even aware he was photographing. He was unobtrusive but still managed to be in the perfect place at the perfect time. Above all else, his photos truly allow us to re-live such a special day, as they reflect and evoke the joy and celebration shared by everyone.

Dennis was amazing. We had a surprise wedding, at a restaurant with 100 of our closest friends and family, Dennis was one of ten people that knew what was going to be happening that evening. We did not want the traditional staged pictures, we chose him for his journalist style and ability to capture raw emotion. Our pictures were amazing and perfectly captured the night, the feelings and just overall presence of the night. We couldn't have asked for anything more from him!

Dennis and his wife completely captured the feel of our wedding and was a pleasure to work with. I wanted to spend as little time as possible posing for photos during my wedding, and Dennis completely obliged. He got amazing shots of me and my husband as well as our families in less than 30 min, which was great because that's all the time we had before it started raining again. In addition to amazing photos of me and my husband, Dennis captured several portraits of our guests. I have never seen photos that more completely reflected who a person is. I've been sharing the photos left and right and everyone has been telling me they've never seen a better photo of themselves. He completely captured the feeling of love and family that was in the air and I know I will treasure these photos forever.
