This is emergency urgent care mental health, one step above going to the hospital. As such, it is designed to serve a particular population. It is designed to help those who can't really function without the correct meds, and so need their meds now. They will help you if you know something is really wrong, but haven't been able to get diagnosed yet. They will help you if you run out of your meds, have no more refills, and can't get it from your usual provider in a timely matter. They will help you even if the problem is that the meds you do have are not working for you properly. As it is actually the clinic of the municipal department of mental health, it is for all, so cost is not an issue. However, they do take your insurance information. You come in. They do diagnosis and medicine perscription in one day. But, like other urgent care, plan to be there all day. Care is triaged (so depending on the comparitive severity of the problems of the others who comes in that day) you may be asked to come in on the following day. Also, just like urgent care, they want make sure you have a regular caregiver. Like most facilities that are overloaded and unpredictable, the staff are tired and may be irritated, but they are caring. I have seen them use what seemed like their own funds to make a quick ramen snack for people who have been waiting for hours. The thing about this place is... when you do get to see the doctor...they are fresh, very good, very focused and they take their time to fully understand you and what you need. This is not just a refill station, they will give you a real assessment, and make an independent assessment of what meds might help you the most. Then you leave with your script.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. After going there for a medication refill, they denied me seeing their doctor. The so called social worker tried saying I didn't have an issue, therefore refused to let me be seen. This place is outdated the staff are awful rude and completely incompetent. Unless you are homeless or can't afford going elsewhere - stay away at all costs!
