Department of the Medical Examiner

My brother in law passed away and it took over 3.5 months for the cause of death and death certificate!!! The original estimate was 8 - 10 weeks I believe and then that deadline passed. We asked the mortuary to follow up and was told it would be another 2 weeks. Well, that deadline passed as well. My husband then called the Medical Examiner's Office directly a couple of times to inquire on the status and we never got a call back. We finally had to call our City Council member and their office was able to help us get the death certificate completed that same day. This is unacceptable!!

I am not sure of the name of the man i talked to about my beloved uncle but he was so kind and helpful. Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion.
