First time ever coming to one of these pretty cool little event definitely will be back masks are required the whole time don't understand the reason why when the mask mandate no longer is required but followed the rules. Super hot in there but during halftime stepped outside. Pretty cool though watching girls on roller skates push each other. It now makes sense yes the team we seen was from California and they ask us to wear masks.
The Derby Depot is open to anyone who wants to learn how to skate and/or play derby. Follow on Facebook for practice times and game times! Year round. The different leagues that play here are all so fun, there are co-ed teams as well, it's not only women or people identifying as women. It's such a great community, come skate with us!
Sad. Not fun. Not for kids. I took my wife, kids, my mother, brother and his family and his wife's family. 14 people. There were more people playing than there were people in the stands. The teams took themselves way too seriously. No fun. Not safe for kids. During half time I went outside and homeless are eating trash from the dumpsters in the dark. Derby is better outside of SLC. In my 10 years supporting derby, SLC derby at the Derby Depot is the worst experience I've ever had. And I've been to real shitholes supporting derby. I will never go to SLC Derby Depot again and it makes me rethink supporting the sport.
Love the Derby Depot, this non profit organization does everything in their power to be inclusive kind and empowering to all people.
My son diesel was so awesome I love him so much and his mom has done a phenomenal job
First time watching a game. It was awesome. Had a great time. If you take younger kids bring ear protection just in case.
My daughter was refeering tonight. Fun to watch but super cold inside. Dress warm and take a chair and blanket, too. Metal bleachers not good when it's cold!
Just went to my first Roller Derby bout and this was one of the most fun experiences I've had at a sporting event. Positive fans, great sportsmanship, and a very close bout between the Witches and Wizards. Definitely going to come again and bring friends.
Watching roller derby is always lots of fun! If you've never been before they always have people around that can explain the rules to you. It's a unique sport that you have to experience in person.
Super fun experience! It was our first time. We watched a video to understand roller derby before we went which helped but the facility had a person going around who would answer questions that was helpful for the things we didn't know.
