For more than 65 years, Derbyshire’s Solid Wood Furniture on Route 23 South in Wayne has been offering customers the ability to choose their own furniture color, style, wood type and size, resulting in a custom look without the custom price tag. Derbyshire’s is owned by third generation grandson, Bob Rogers and his wife and business partner, Mary.

Derbyshire’s specializes in solid wood, pre-sanded and assembled furniture that can be finished in a variety of ways, including wood stains, paints, glazes, 2-toning, antiquing and distressing as well as custom color matching to your existing furniture. Derbyshire’s carries a full line of high quality, user and environmentally-friendly finishing products for the do-it-yourselfer to achieve the desired result. Or, for those not so inclined, Derbyshire’s also offers professional finishing services. “We serve the do-it-yourselfers on a tight budget, as well as people needing higher end custom sized, custom finished items,” says owner Bob Rogers, who adds, “You won’t find anything here made with particleboard, MDF or other inferior, unhealthy imitation ‘wood’ products.”

Variety and choice are abundant at Derbyshire’s. “Many of our new customers arrive here because they need a very specific size, a certain style or an uncommon color and they can’t find it anywhere else,” says Mary Rogers. “Once they see the selection and value they’re getting here, they’re hooked.” The Wayne shop carries furniture in a wide variety of décor styles, including traditional, shaker, mission, French country, American country and contemporary.

Thousands of different items from over 20 manufacturers can be found at Derbyshire’s – something for every room in the home. The store’s second floor houses a showroom, displaying the furniture in room-type settings. Both finished and unfinished pieces are available for sale, and customers can also choose from thousands of other pieces available via catalogue. Delivery service is also available.
