Highly recommend seeing Emily!! I struggled for months, seeing multiple dermatologists to figure out what was causing my acne flare up. Emily inquired about my previous birth control which no provider has and quickly recognized my acne was hormonal and immediately put me on the correct treatment regimen. Thanks to her, my skin drastically cleared following her recommendations. Emily is extremely knowledgeable and a caring clinician that truly listens to her patients! There should be more providers like her! :
I wish I could give zero stars. If you are experiencing any form of hair loss, PLEASE DO NOT SEE DR CLAY! The absolute WORST doctor I have ever encountered. I have been seeing Dr Abbotts who has been great!, but she was booked up for a few months, so I figured I would go see Dr Clay. From the very beginning, so was rude. She made me feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and invalidated. Her attitude, lack of empathy, are complete disinterest in my well-being was beyond alarming. I left my meeting with her nearly in tears… that’s how bad of an experience it was. Please save your money, time, and mental health, and do not go visit Dr Clay.
4 years later and I still have scars/small keloids first time ever from the skin sample they took for my hyperpigmentation that could’ve been fixed with actives now that I know better. I tried the bleaching cream they prescribed but it never worked as I probably needed silicone scar removal or laser instead. They’re a nice office and did recommend Tretinoin to me in 2014 so I’m appreciative of that but don’t allow any procedures in the office if you can help it.
This was my first time coming here. I had Emily Didrick and she was great provided sound medical advice for my skin issues. I did not like the nurse that was assigned to me. Every interaction felt like such a rush and she didn't have time to calmly ask questions. I also didn't appreciate how I told them that I use CVS pharmacy and then they sent the prescription automatically to some mail order pharmacy before discussing it with me beforehand. I found out after Emily left and the nurse was giving me my paperwork. The nurse told me that the medication cost were high and I won't get a better deal. So when I expressed concerns about the cost and perhaps discussing other medications/treatment options with the provider, she kinda blew me off. Besides the nurse, usually if doctors knows the medicine is high, they will mention it and ask if this is an option for you. And would discuss other possible routes. Unfortunately I didn't receive this. So I left the office, unpleased. Made me question if I actually needed the medications. Or if the providers here had some deal with that mail order pharmacy or the brand-name prescriptions they were writing out. There's so much more involved with patient experience outside diagnosis and treatment. Even thinking back on the experience now, I'm not sure if I'll be coming back.
I have gone to dermatology affiliates midtown location and have always been impressed with the patient care there. Several weeks ago, I had micro needling at the Buckhead location. A few weeks later, I developed welts on my face. Called and was seen quickly by Dr Forney. She gave instructions and told me to call back on Thursday. I did call several times with no call back. I called again on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. NO ONE HAS RETURNED MY CALL, even though I have pleaded for them to do so. Not showing improvement. No return calls. Frustrated.
Does not respect you or your time as a customer. Routinely wait in the lobby 30-60 minutes beyond the appointment time, then an additional lenghty wait to see a doctor The service, once you are seen, is great - but there are too many other dermatologists in Atlanta to deal with that level of treatment.
I wouldn't recommend this practice if you are coming from another doctor and have an established treatment regimen. I moved to Atlanta from another state and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Clay when my existing prescriptions ran out of refills. I have eczema in my ears, and it had been well-managed with topical medicine given as needed. I gave background on the treatments I'd tried and how well my current treatment was working. Dr. Clay prescribed me something else and encouraged me to come back if my problems persisted. And my problems have persisted. For most doctors, I would've been back by now. However, I haven't scheduled this appointment because while I'm not opposed to trying new treatments per a doctor's recommendation, I am opposed to a doctor who doesn't listen to me. I don't think Dr. Clay really heard me or valued what I said about my past treatment. If I felt like she listened, I still would have tried her recommendation and I'd have come back. Now, I'm searching for another doctor.
I can’t remember the receptionist name but she was hilarious! Made my first time at a dermatologist a breeze! Emily was FANTASTIC. She was kind, gentle and knowledgeable! She also gave me some good tips to get my medicine a little cheaper. I’ll definitely be coming back to her if I need work done. I was the last appt of the day but I didn’t feel like she was out of energy. I didn’t have insurance and they didn’t act all funny on me. They treated me like they appreciated my business and I appreciate that!! It’s only been a few days and my skin issue is dissipating! Thanks again Emily!
Staff was very friendly & not much wait time. Office & bathroom were clean. Dr was helpful & answered all the questions I had.
Dr Clay and her staff are awesome! They are attentive and gives me detailed instructions- both verbal and written. My skin is looking much better thanks to her!
