This place does very sloppy work. I first sat for a pedicure and the Mexican woman who works there began to rush my pedicure, so I declined that service. I then sat for a full set, and requested short, thin, natural looking square nails and ended up with clumpy, poorly shaped and sloppily polished nails. I pointed out the issue about the shape to the woman who was doing it the owners wife and I still ended up with horrible nails anyway. I see why nobody is at this place anymore, very sloppy and quick work. A waste of money, I won’t be returning.Services: Pedicure

I would never return nor would I ever recommend this place. I wasted time and $75 on a full set of acrylic with a gel base coat. Lily was my nail tech and she seemed like a nice woman but It felt like she was rushing it wasn't busy at the time she literally was huffing and puffing , giving me an attitude like it was a a tremendous bother when I asked her to fix something like smooth the nails more because it was bumpy. I had to also ask her to clean underneath the nail and she filed them crooked. If you are going to have the audacity to charge your patrons $45 and up got nails , at least have good customer service skills. I asked for a design and she was unable to create clean thin lines so I had to wait for another tech to do the design. On top of that, they guilt trip you if you don't want to get gel. The gel applications , many times, are very thick and not everyone wants their nails to looks like marshmallows. Thanks but no thanks. This salon needs to do much better .

I love this nail salon it was only $63! Here’s what I wanted and here’s what I got!

I did a gel manicure And it fell out not even a week later I went there before I haven't had that experience but that got me really upset Very disappointed They usually do a better job than that

If I could give this place no stars I would. I have been here numerous times and they repeatedly get the color wrong. But this time, when I showed them sage green they gave me a NEON blue. Not only after expressing to him several times that this is not what I asked for, they over charged me. Instead of correcting his mistake and trying to help me find a color more similar to what I was looking for he argued and was arrogant and rude. Don’t waste your time and money here. The worst experience ever, one worker including the owner at that place had no knowledge in distinguishing the nail format of my nails. I wanted a refill toward my uv gel tips nail but hisowner respond was "No, I'll do acrylic nail for you" and " Uv gel tips nail will take too long to do", after accepting my appointment over the phone for 6pm. In addition toward those issues, one of the workers there along with the owner constantly kept saying that my nails weren't "UV gel tip nails" and instead it was acrylic nails. In my point of view, that goes to say that they lack knowledge on their practices as a nail technician and they are in denial of what I know as a client, based on my multiple trips to many other nail salons. Lastly when I walked through the door of this place which was around 5:58pm, I immediately looked up at the signs for the price of my nail. On the sign the cost for "UV gel tip nail full set is $55. All the nails on my right hand were still intact and only needed a refill. As for my left hand, only three of my five fingers were missing a nail and the owner was going to charge me $60 to get it all redone. I refused and can say that I have never received such experience from a nail salon such as this one and they can forget about me ever returning back here again.

I had been going to this nail salon for a few years now but the level of service has really dropped all they care about is over charging and getting you out as soon as possible. Which in detail comes out to you getting messed up nails and having to fight with the owner Joe to get things done right. I actually went to get a filling and ended up with messed up nails so bad I had to pay triple to another nail salon to take off what they put on my nails and correct the problem. I should have know better when they stop sterilizing their equipment. I really don't like to give bad reviews but I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

My daughter told me about Design Nail & Spa a few months ago, and I am so glad she did!! They are great!!! First they have parking which in Jersey City is a major plus!! I live downtown and granted, it is not as convenient as the zillions of nail shops with in walking distance of my home. That being said, it is worth the additional travel time!! I get UV gel and have been doing so for years. Joe does my nails and he does by far the best gel manicure I have ever received HANDS down!! pardon the pun Not only does my manicure look amazing but, it looks shiny and perfect for so long that I wait way too long to get them done again!! I can't recommend this place enough. For the extra minutes it takes me to get there the extra two weeks of wear makes it worth it!!! All that coupled with the fact that I save close to thirty dollars every time I get my nails done now, it's a win-win all around!!!
