DEW Haven

After visiting DEW Haven in Mount Vernon, Maine for the first time, I fell in love. I decided to apply for their internship program. I spent two summers there as an intern and had the best time of my life. This facility was built from the ground up by the amazing Bob and Julie Miner with the help of their family and many supporters. The animals are so well taken care of and are beautiful to see and get to know. The DEW crew is equally wonderful! The hard work and dedication the Miners put into this wildlife refuge is so inspiring. I highly recommend anyone to visit and take a tour to learn more about DEW and it's critters! It's a hidden gem and a great experience for all ages.

We love going every year. Whenever you take a tour it’s evident that the animals love Bob as much as he loves them. To see a place where all of the animals can live their lives happy & relaxed is wonderful. Definitely take the tour as it is so informative.

I interned at Dew Haven in Mount Vernon, Maine last summer and even though it was my first internship, it was the best time I’ve ever had. The owners are so genuinely in love with their animals and the people that come and visit. Having been behind the scenes, I know first hand what the owners and employees do for the well being of their animals. I couldn’t think of a better place to donate my time and money to; it’s worth every minute and penny I promise.

It wasn't bad, not real friendly. Lots of goats N ducks... I can see them anywhere. The other animals just looked sad. Worst part was the picnic area was right next to the Porta potties.... nasty. The kids enjoyed it but I won't be wasting 35 bucks again. Plus 2 for an ice cream cone of grain.

Fun place for the kids. A bit expensive really. $50.00 for 2 adults and a kid with a $10.00 bucket of grain to feed to goats. Too many farm animals, I mean how many goats and mini horses can you do you need to see. The whole place felt like it could use some work. Kinda run down feeling.
