Fantastic. I've been wanting to visit for years and finally made the trek. I got the regular slice and the regular square basically a grandma. Both delicious, and the standout ingredient was the sauce, which is super fresh tasting. In general I liked the thin slice a little better, and actually bought a second one. But the crust of the square was particularly good at the very end, the unsauced bit a kid would throw away. Crispy and flavorful. I was lucky enough not to encounter a line. Limited seating inside, and very no-frills.
Love this place, ate there for 21 years, consistently good pizza. I like the artichoke pie, but any pizza is awesome here. Now the line is not as crazy as it used to be before. Maybe half an hour to get your pie. They have a choice of good local sodas, cheap. The quality and taste didn't changed after original owner no longer with them, pizza is still amazing.
I finally tried the famous Di Fara Pizza and now understand why it is ranked among the best. They serve the most thin and crispy slice with almost no flop. They top it with a sauce that perfectly balances salty and savory, pleasing your taste buds with every bite. I am not sure how they get the perfect amount of cheese on there, but the cheese did not dominate the slice yet it complimented the sauce and crust so well. I like the fact that everything they serve comes out of the oven fresh right in front of you. Also, there are not that many toppings or other types of slices to choose from, so it eliminates a lot of decision making. Though the pizza is amazing, the restaurant is a hole in the wall on a busy Brooklyn street. They have minimal seating on small folding chairs and tables; something you'd expect to see in one of those dollar slice places. It is also difficult to get to the restaurant, especially if you do not live nearby. You can either take the Q train or drive in some of the most narrow and busy streets to get here. The staff is very friendly and do their best to get your pizza out quick but there can be days where you have to wait in line or wait over an hour to get your pizza, but hey it's really some of the best in the world. 5/5 stars!
I'm not a big Pizza Person but I kept on seeing the episode for this place on the food channels and also hearing it through other people so I had to try it out. The first slice I had was a bit salty and had a hard crust but I figured it may of been sitting out awhile. I did order a pie to go and it was much better. It was not salty at all and the crust was perfect. Good combo of cheese and tomatoes. Think what really makes it good is the fresh basil. One of the best slices of Pizza I had.
Di Fara is truly deserving of its spot as one of the greatest pizzerias in the world. Yes, the interior may be dated, but the gritty NY charm is unquestionable and the quality shines through in the product they put out. I have been following the story from afar for a long time and am delighted to see Dom’s family take the reins and build on the legacy. Don’t complicate things, get the plain slice or the square, pay in cash, and enjoy pizza that’s as good as it gets.
From the moment I stepped into Di Fara Pizza, the enticing aroma of Italian herbs and spices filled the air. The server was attentive, acknowledging every guest and providing an estimated time for orders. I ordered a Pepperoni slice and it surpassed my expectations. The pizza sauce was bursting with flavor, complemented perfectly by the generous portions of thick, savory pepperoni. Each bite was worth every penny spent. While the food was exceptional, I would suggest enhancing the seating arrangements for a more comfortable atmosphere. However, the superb taste of the food overshadowed any minor inconvenience. Overall, my experience at Di Fara Pizza was fantastic, and I will definitely visit again soon.
At first, I was disappointed after I got the square. It was a 7.2 for me. I probably just had a bad slice; it may have been out for too long. The person who I would assume is the owner asked me if I wanted it reheated, and I said sure. I didn’t expect that much of a downgrade. Then my round slice came, and it was much better. All the way to a 9.1Sauce is pretty good. The dough and crust are great. I like how it has a cracker-type taste to it, and the dough is flavored unlike other places. Cheese is great, and the oil on the pizza is a great addition as well. The total was $11. I expected $14; I guess they have a different price for ordering on SliceApp.
Made a pilgrimage to Brooklyn just for this. Easily the best slice of pizza I've ever eaten - fresh out of the oven, with oil and basil. There's a reason Anthony Bourdain called it "the best of the best", and that it features in all of the NYC top pizza lists. Must be tried.
As a pizza connoisseur from Chicago, this was a next level pizza experience. The robust taste of freshness is apparent in every bite. I recommend the pepperoni square slices with the crunch, crispy, toasted cheese edges. MY GAWD - THEY UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT!!!Food: 5/5
Di Fara's has been on our list of pizzerias to visit since sometime and we finally got to try their Brooklyn location. We ordered a plain slice, a plain rectangle and a slice with mushroom toppings. It wouldn't beat our favorite pizza place in NYC, but we loved their pizza. The toppings, olive oil and the sauce everything went very well together. The restaurant is very small but offers seating for about 7-8 people. Vegetarian options: The original pie's are vegetarian and can be customized with several other vegetarian toppings.
