My hubs and I both used this facility with no issues. Dr Shaffi answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. I was treated with the utmost respect and dignity! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is having a colonoscopoy! Or any tummy troubles.
Dr Ghulam Mujtaba was the most arrogant doctor I have ever met! He didn’t answer any of my questions and completely ignored them. He is so out of touch and doesn’t really care. I am still sick and have no direction on how to deal with my medical issues I have an appointment with a new group thanks to SWMA who suggests a different group of GI doctors and suggested one with 5 stars and incredible reviews. Always check the reviews before you decide on a doctor if I had of checked this doctors reviews I would never have scheduled with him!
Had my consultation in the middle of December 2019. Waited 1 1/2 hours until the nurse came in and told me the Doctor would be late. She said I could wait or come back in the afternoon. I chose to stay. The doctor arrived 45 minutes later. He set me up for a endoscopy/colonoscopy for the first week in 2020. He told me to pick up my prep on the way out. When I checked out, the office assistant told me they were out of prep but it would arrive late that afternoon and she would call me. I never heard back, so I called the office a week before my procedure and they had it. Just forgot to call. The day of my procedure they collected my CO-Pay $779.00. After my procedure they efaxed a prescription in to my drug store. When I went to pick it up, they had no orders. I called and left a message twice with the nurse on two separate days about my prescription-nothing. On day 3, I drove to their office to ask for a written RX. She gave it to me and I dropped it off my drug store, only to be called back at the end of the day to be told the physician didn't sign it and they had a message in to the office. Day 4 I finally got the prescription. I was looking at my credit card bill and found they charged me twice. I went into the office again and asked her to credit my account for one of the $779. She said I would have to call the billing office. I stood my ground and said "No" politely, and asked that she take care of that. She did and all was well, I thought. The next month, I found out that they collected too much for my copay, so I called the billing office. I was told that my refund would come via check and it would take 8 weeks. REALLY? In April I called and got the Office Manager. She said my refund was sent in on March 26th and I would have to wait for processing because of Covid. She said HR was writing the check. I asked why HR, she said "That is how they do it there" I asked if she could just refund my credit card and she said credit cards don't allow that after 30 days. Today is June 16th and still no refund. I called my credit card and asked if I could dispute the amount with it being 5 months now and they said yes. I asked if it was true that they cannot refund after 30 days, and they said that was not true. My physician did a good job, but the rest of the office, you might want to consider if you want to deal with the hassle.
If they give you a quote for a procedure after they have checked with your insurance make sure you GET IT IN WRITING. They will bill you after in contradiction to what they already quoted. This constitutes fraud and misrepresentation to the patient. If the billing department check with the insurance provided and then asserts to the patient that the procedure will be a certain amount they need to honor their word. It’s deceiving to the patient to make them under go a procedure they represent is only a certain amount out of pocket then later bill for extra amounts. Personally, its not about the amount billed. When it comes to health I would pay much more that what I am being billed. Its about the principal of being honest to your client. For this reason, I say to whoever is reading, get the quote in writing before you undergoing any kind of procedure so you can dispute any future bills that are contrary to what you were originally quoted after their billing department had already done their due diligence with your insurance.
My Dr sent in a referral for Dr Shafi. Their office called me stating they received my referral and asked when I wanted to come in. I told her I was going out of town, so in 2 weeks please. She scheduled me and was professional. ...two weeks later... I sign in under Dr Shafi on clipboard, was called up 5 min later and was asked to show my insurance cards and ID and that I owed a 30$ copay. Pointed to the clipboards and said to fill it out. She was neither welcoming or rude. But never asked me why I wrote down Dr Shafi when my appointment, apparently, was with one of the other Dr.s at the center. So I sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes while other patients came in and out all around me. Finally it’s my turn, she was nice took my vitals and said Thanks for being patient, and to please wait for Dr Osama.” My husband was with me and spoke up and said “you mean Dr Shafi?” She then stated “ well you made the appointment.” I thought for a second, well she does have a point. Then remembered “Wait, your office called me for the appointment,” she then stated “that Dr is here, but he is booked” So I asked for my referral back and proceeded to leave the office. My purpose for this review is to show my point of view, which is.. ””they cattle people in and are overwhelmed. And seem to care only for the $$$”” I will have to see what happens to my 30$ copay. Will update after that fiasco.
This place is terrible, Doctor's don't care about anyone but themselves. The lady I saw kept trying to schedule a colonoscopy they make 6k per my problem couldn't have that type of procedure done yet the doctor literally forgot twice what my issue was and kept bringing it up like a robot. She never checked me either, two months later my regular doctor took the time to check me and figured out I had a different problem. I was in serious pain for 2 months and lost 25lbs all because this doctor didn't do her job and actually check me. Then a couple weeks later I get a medical bill in the mail for adjustments for $93 just seems like a slap in the face, she didn't even do enough to earn $20 lol Anyhow these people are horrible. Go anywhere but here
Rude, they keep sending me bills and I always pay my deductible every-time I go
If you are looking for a doctor that cares don't go to Dr. Shafi. Let's start with the staff the black billing woman is a horrible individual and needs to be fired. I told her my husband had just been to ER twice in 2 days and she told me to my face she didn't care and she needed $60 for fees I hadn't paid. I told her I don't have it and she said she didn't care if he can't see the dr she has to collect the money. I looked at her and got my husband full medical record and checked him out on the spot. Prior to this encounter we had been looking for a new Gastro for about a week. We have been see Dr. Sharif for at least 6 months and his office staff was suppose to get his medical records from a different state and had yet to send for them, and black short ugly girl was suppose to request them and each time we saw her she had an excuse, and by the way I'm black. So this isn't racial but I noticed they either gave me a much harder time or just was plain lazy like the black girl that checks you out after you see the dr. Our main issue either. Shafi he never pushed his staff he even said to them it shouldn't take that long for our info to be requested. But never made sure they did it so each visit was like the one before it, no answers and let's put u on the same meds that really aren't working. Horrible experience and once my husband got checked into ER was when we realized they aren't the health team for us. When things get bad for the patient they have proven that don't care about the patient they care about a 60$ fees that could have been billed to me all along. That black wonen over billing needs to be fired and the black girl that checks people out should also be fired. You should never say you don't care about the patient you treat. And the check out girl is lazy and doesn't know how to do her job it's apparent when we're asking for the same documents after 6 months!!! Staff horrible and Dr. Sharif doesn't care enough to even look into his staff being inadequate nor does he care about the real diagnosis of the patient, that's what we were their for, and by the way my husband ulcers opened back up the reason for ER, again horrible treatment and staff.
I went in and saw Dr. I he is a great doctor very nice. The staff and the windmill location is the problem. I called 6 times and asked that they pre auth my insurance so I can be financially prepared. Everytime I spoke to them they said they would do it that day and call me to let me know. I called my insurance to check if a pre auth had been submitted and everytime I called it wasn't. I finally just cancelled my procedure appointment and am going to find another office.
Just Started Seeing The Doctor Here, It Was All Positive, He's Really Trying To Figure Out My Problem, Through Testing.
