I arrived today at 2:14 PM and the cashier rudely said, "We are closed already. I am breaking my till down. " WOW, what a first impression. If they were closed, then why leave the door open or advertise that the establishment closes at 3 PM? One of the perks of working downtown is the convenient eateries, especially when everyone closes at 2 pm except Chick-fil-A and District 7, so I thought. I will not be returning. Chick-fil-A never fails.
I love the fact that this restaurant is never fully booked. You always find somewhere to sit once you arrive.
This place is in the tunnels. Surprisingly cozy atmosphere compared to the starkness of most of the downtown tunnels. I had a rosemary chicken spinach salad which was nice. The food came out relatively quickly and was brought straight to our table of 5 people. We didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy our lunch and conversation without pressure to leave.
I've been meaning to try this place for a while, I pass it all the time on lunch time strolls. Today I finally decided to give it a try and am so happy I did. I had the Toga burger on a "Slow Dough" bun; it was topped with arugula, gorgonzola, and pesto. They cooked it to medium, as requested, and it was a juicy burger with just a bit of pink. I had a side of sweet potato fries, which were great. The price was pretty reasonable ~$15. The other items on the menu also looked good, I'll definitely be returning to try some of the other options.
Ordered the $6 Angus ala carte burger online for pickup, just as-is no cheese or other addons. Expected a 1/4 lb burger for the price, but it was a solid burger -- I'm guessing at least 1/3 lb. Had no sauce on the bun but had great juices from the patty, and they included a little tub of ketchup and some doctored mayo. I'd say it's a decent burger, and for the price, it's one notch up.
Come here for a good lunch! District 7 Grill has a good sized menu with plenty of sandwich, pizza, and pasta options and much more. The food is good I find some of the other locations to be on the salty side and you can get free soft serve at the end. That's a nice little treat!
Fantastic Food! Very nice staff. Clean nice restaurant. Recommend in the Houston area.
Had the angus burger; little taste to it. The special was flounder; the fish was mushy and the crust was thicker than the fillet. The broccoli was refrigerator cold in some places.
Delectable. Excellent. Savory. That would be my colleagues and I experience with District 7 Grill in The Tunnel on Louisiana! Our table was reserved by our boss, service was warm and prompt! I was saying to myself the food fare must be good here, because it is crowded! I knew it to be true when I took my first bite of the Spinach Salad! The Honey Balsamic Dressing packed so much flavor and element! Kudos to whomever made it! I also ordered The Pappardelle...and I must tell you the Ginger Sauce was packing much flavor and detail as well...the clams, scallops, and shrimp played their part in the entree! There was a hint of heat which turned my meal into a Foodie's Heaven in The Tunnel... I recommend that you try one of their salads, if you do nothing else...or one of the Moofs! LOL! Plus for a sweet, amnesty treat..they serve free ice cream! How nice...
Love this place! The service and food is always top notch. They have a fun take on the muffaletta. I won't call it a true muffaletta but it's very good! All of their menu offerings are excellent
