I’ve been using District Dogs Navy Yard for grooming for a year now. I also use them for day care occasionally. The pricing is on the higher side however, you’ll find that it’s comparable to most places in the DMV but I do believe the results/quality are worth it. Myeshia does an excellent job on my Ollie! His haircut always looks professional and grows out so well. He has anxiety with crating, but the staff was attentive to the issue and worked with me to make sure he’s comfortable! They’re great at communicating if there’s an issue or update in grooming/day care!
This was the worst and most expensive groom I’ve had in six years of owning my maltipoo! After having gone three times previously, I trusted that they would be able to look at the past photos in their system when I said to groom like we had in all previous cuts. They instead chose to completely chop off all his hair, including his tail and ears! He was not matted so this was completely unnecessary. They were horrible to deal with in the aftermath, refusing to acknowledge their errors and tried blaming me for a miscommunication that happened on their end. You tell me if you think this groom before and after pic is worth $150 + tip Go anywhere else!
Myeshia did a wonderful job with our 6mo Portuguese water dog. We saw her for her first partial cut and more recently for her first full hair cut. As you can see from the before picture she really needed it! I can tell the staff really cares about the dogs and I know our pup is in good hands.
Took her for boarding while we were on a business trip and absolutely regretted bringing her here. We gave the staff specific instructions on how we wanted her to be fed because she was transitioning from dry to wet food along with her receiving bone broth. These are the pictures that they would send us throughout the day and wouldn’t say anything to us until the report card became available and we would see that they were marking that she wasn’t eating and that she was shy. So after the first day of her not eating I called and asked if they would please try hand-feeding her to see if she would eat they said that they would try. After day 2 it was still the same thing reported that she wouldn’t eat so I called again because at this point I am very concerned and worried about why my dog is being lethargic and I asked them if they tried to hand feed her like agreed on the phone and they said no. Mention everyday they threw away the food even if your dog doesn’t eat so the food is constantly being wasted. Everyday the pictures were getting worse and whenever I would get the chance to I would login to watch the video and it just made me feel sick knowing that there’s absolutely nothing I could do for my dog and the thought of her starving. Other dog owners have had good experiences but unfortunately mine wasn’t the best and I never returned back. Also they were very pricey for 3 days of boarding we paid around $800.
The staff at District Dogs Navy Yard location were so kind and saved the day when our rescue, Sissy, who always travels with us, was having a hard time in our hotel. Our hotel room was sandwiched between a barking dog on one side and a crying baby on the other and she wasn’t able to relax. Doggy daycare was just what she needed. Thank you for your compassion and kindness!
Our family at District Dogs has helped raise our boy, Max from a puppy to the delightful member of our family he is today. Providing a loving, fun environment is a passion for every one of the staffers District Dogs. I can’t imagine life without them!!!
Myeshia did a great job with our doodle. Available with just a few days notice; very professional and easy upon arrival and departure; haircut looked great. On the pricier side but we will be back!
Really disappointed about their costumer service. I came in three times and each time there was a problem with my grooming reservation. At first they told me I had to change the reservation through my portal and that they are NOT able to help me, but then another lady said that she could change it for me. I never received a confirmation email, I though it was at 9am because she told me so but since I didn’t receive a confirmation email she said it was at 8am and charged me $50 cancellation fee. I understand why they must charge it, but I was there at 8:30 and had a genuine confusion. The business had zero willingness to help me find a solution, they told me they had room for a groom at 9 but I would still have to pay the late fee and the service. They did not care about my puppy, my time or the money they charged me. The manager is extremely rude and had ZERO intention of helping us. My review is based on my experience and all opinions expressed are my own.
My dog had a great time boarding at District Dogs. We were able to watch her during a certain portion of the day.
We love the experience, care, and security for our 9lb Havapoo. The staff is hospitable and nurturing at drop off and pick up. The report card and photos are the best! District Dogs Navy Yard is a part of our family life!
