Free gallery upstairs from street level. It's a little small and intimate but with a variety of artists and pieces. The entrance I a little tricky. It's in the middle of two businesses and easy to miss.
What a surprise to visit an intimate theater 4-5 rows of theater seating that puts you right there within the performance… We saw Niagara which was an outstanding time… Highly recommended!
My favorite hole in the wall, and another wall and maybe a floor or two, venue. There is nothing accessible here, and the one toilet isn't going to save you during an eight minute intermission. Bring good knees for the many sets of stairs you'll climb to get to your tiny seat and plan ahead by visiting, and using the facilities at, one of the many bars nearby before the show. By being a tiny black box the average cop can't fit down the stairwells to raid this place has an off the wall eccentricity to its shows you wouldn't want to find elsewhere. The little cash bar has a mediocre selection at best but it'll get you through three acts. The lobby is a feature unto itself, housing an ever changing gallery. Twice the size of the theatre, it's still not big and doesn't take long to inspect. Thankfully though the curator tends to pick out artists that require some time for reflection.
A really cool performance/art gallery space. The first area is an art gallery with some exhibits that rotate throughout the year. In the back is a small black box theatre that showcases DC theatre. Be warned: If you plan on seeing a show here plan ahead for parking/transportation. There is only a small garage across the street that's $20+, otherwise you're fighting for street parking which is hard to come by. The closest metro stop is about a ten minute walk.
Saw a great play 4 Beckett shirts. Gallery is also something interesting.
Small theater cash only. Nice space for intimate shows, entrance is between two others and the venue is upstairs. Only one bathroom upstairs so head to a nearby bar or restaurant if there is a big line.
I have seen some great exhibits and the director and staff are committed to the theatrical and visual arts communities. My fave solo show was EJ Montgomery's
The monthly DC Naked Girls Reading show is all ways a fun time.
You know how I love & enjoy art with all of the many expressions! This one in particular stood out 2 Me although I did take many pics of the different displays...
Small space, but works for what it is. Great variety of shows, and usually have an art installation in the lobby.
