District Smiles

Use them at your own risk! Never had an insurer battle so much just to contact a company in my life! Went for a treatment 8 months ago which was an emergency consultation, I specifically requested that they check that it was in network and pre approved before visiting and was told it was all covered. I have now nearly 8 months later, received an outstanding bill from them. They have been incredibly unprofessional and are claiming for a charge that was not consistent with the visit. I had an emergency issue and did not go for a general consultation. They have been paid by MetLife for the consultation and are requesting additional funds. Please see the last communication whereby Metlife could not contact their offices for weeks. Not by phone, text or email, absolutely pathetic. I did not go there for a general consultation and would never have accepted to go there had they not lied to me and told me it was pre approved and in network. For them to now claim otherwise is fraud. They act without impunity, as they feel the patient has no rights and they operate as such.

I've had several bad experiences here and have chosen to leave and find a new dentist. I have had three different dentists in the span of about one year and their turnover rate is unacceptable.

My family has been going to District Smiles about 3 years. In that time the ownership has changed several times and it felt like the staff was completely different every time I went in for a cleaning. The final straw came when my wife went in for a crown and was advised that the office was now listed as out of network. Our insurance has not changed. If the insurance network of the office changes that kind of information needs to be shared up front. Ultimately the constant volatility of ownership and staff turn over leading to a network change has driven us to a new family dentist in Bethesda. The people are nice but the odds are you will only ever see them once.

My husband and I got cleanings and exams as new patients after confirming that District Smiles was in network with our dental insurance. 6 months later we were sent a surprise very large out of network bill. The office and their billing office have been unresponsive and unhelpful as I try to get this bill removed from my account, I have been trying to reach management for weeks to no avail. Surprise bills are illegal and I cannot recommend District Smiles. Update: District Smiles removed our outstanding balance as a courtesy. It was a frustrating situation but I am grateful it has been resolved.

I made an appointment here for an impromptu cleaning and now they’re my new dental team! Everyone is warm, professional, and thorough. I left without any questions unanswered as well as a solid treatment plan. They are thoughtful and patient about comfort/discomfort while in treatment, and take non rushed time to help sort through things like insurance and discuss options and health. I was able to schedule my follow up treatments promptly and always feel very comfortable and well taken care of- thank you!

I haven't been to the dentist since 2013 and I thanks to circumstance I ended up making an appointment with District Smiles and I honestly am beyond satisfied with my experience. This is now my new dentist and I have set up appointment to completely fix my smile. I left their office with a boatload of new found confidence. I truly believe I'm in the capable hand with a group with integrity.

Where do I start????? From the ease of making an appointment to the professional greeting and mannerisms of everyone in this office, I am extremely satisfied. William is very knowledgeable and remembers all the details of my and my daughter treatment plans. Syed did an amazing job cleaning my teeth in the most gentle manner I have ever experienced. Diamond is a gem pun intended...always courteous and very professional. But let's talk about Dr. Majd....not only did he do a root canal where I experienced no pain or swelling , but he personally called me the next day after hours to follow-up. I have recommended this office to many friends and colleagues since my first visit.

I never thought going to the dentist would be so pleasant! I've had a couple bad doctors appointments in DC, so I was really relieved to find a place where everyone was so kind and helpful. William at the front desk was wonderful and helped me sort out my insurance, which was a big relief. He explained my dental plan to me in detail which I also really appreciated. The assistant and doctor were both very kind and gentle. I didn't feel rushed as I often do, and would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist.

I came to District Smiles a few times and can definitely recommend them as a dental office. Their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! Dr. Majd was very professional, courteous, and made me feel comfortable right away. The office is very clean, efficient, and in a great location. I can't say enough good things! Highly highlyyy recommend!
