The big white lady with blue/purple hair who sits at front desk as soon as you walk through the Emergency doors on the night shift is very rude and has a terrible demeanor. This individual does not present the professionalism, friendliness, and commitment for a hospital working environment, especially being in the Emergency Department. While I was there getting checked out, I have seen her make smart remarks towards other individuals seeking medical assistance. I also saw her give EMS and law enforcement officers a very hard time for trying to bring in individuals who need medical help and that is very disappointing to see. I will never come back to this hospital.
I only gave 3 stars because of the ER Dr. V Of whom was exceptionally professional However, the staff on another hand I'm trying to reach the nurse's station for my niece I, got through, hospital staff answered, put the phone down, and I could hear them talking the time was 630p. Maybe Receiving Hospital need to get more professional employees everyone is trying to be the chief. Can't imagine being Admitted to Receiving Hospital That would be the last place for any decent human being To be cared for.
If I could give the ER at this hospital a negative star I would. The ER nursing staff should be given courses in patient/family care. They are rude and unkind to patients and their families who are already there in stressful situations. My daughter was taken to this hospital last night after being in a car crash. The ER nurse in pod 5 gave my daughter a bed pan but didn’t assist my injured daughter with sitting up and getting placed in the pan nor did she provide any towel to wipe herself after. That is not where the lack of care stopped. The ER nurse then began talking rudely to me as I spoke with the registration attendant. She was very aggressive and mean when directing me to my daughters location. I had to stop at the nursing station and ask for her to be removed from my daughters case as she was argumentative with me as well. As I asked for another nurse to assist me back to my daughter she kept screaming out at me and now him her location. This behavior from her was witnessed by several staff and from what I could tell it must be acceptable. I was able to speak with the head nurse a lovely blonde who tried to deescalate the situation and assured me that the other nurse would have no additional contact with my daughter or myself. It was admitted to me by the head nurse that this particular ER nurse has had several complaints. My question is why not do better. Why not get these nurses some additional training. Why not be there to help people in stressful situations.
By far the most immature group of hospital staff I’ve ever transported a patient to. I go to 10 different hospitals while working in EMS and I dread coming to this hospital only because of the petty staff. Crystal and Beverly both take forever to register patients and treat EMS like garbage. I recently had to extricate a patient down 5 flights of stairs and when we headed to the Resus room Crystal stopped my partner and I from going in and yelled at us because we couldn’t obtain the patients birthday. Our patient was still unconscious, figure it out and go back to your computer Crystal. Theo is by far the worst employee at this place that I’ve come across in the last 4 years. I’ve witnessed him belittle EMS while they’re with their patient giving a report, I’ve seen him yell at patients who aren’t stable. I’ve seen him dismiss his coworkers, EMS and patients. He does not need to be in the field he’s in. While he’s safe in a hospital with security guards and patients who have gone through security checks, I’ll be out on the road going into homes where knives and guns are pulled out on me. I’ll be out there picking up and moving unconscious patients down endless flights of stairs while Theo sits at a computer desk. Theo wouldn’t survive one shift on the road in Detroit.
the er doctor yesterday night was phenomenal. great bedside manner, easy to talk with, and took my concerns seriously. he was thorough with running tests. my experience having him perform an abdominal ultrasound was actually super neat, because he let me ask questions about what was being shown on the screen & he explained to me what all we were looking at. i wish i could recall his name so i could namedrop in this review to give him the recognition he deserves. sorry about that. the nurse who attended to me was great too. getting an iv in me can be a nightmare, but she aced it. there isn’t even a bruise! knocking off one star for the long wait to be seen by the doctor, however i did anticipate a lengthy wait time. just sucks to be stuck sitting in those uncomfortable waiting area chairs for hours as a chronic pain experiencer.
This hospital clerks are just messed up. If you ask for help over phone, they reacts with anger. It seems they don’t wanna work. No nurses for help. If you ask for help, they reply “coming in a sec” but they never come. Is this ridiculous? I strongly recommended not to go to this hospital. Very disappointed situation. NB. I went to ER today.
They need to make a negative star option!! Absolutely disgusting how this “hospital” is still even in business with how poorly they treat their patients. The nurses and doctors are a complete joke, and were very unprofessional and didn’t even do their job, and that’s what they’re getting paid to do!! I went in with a family member and saw a number of patients on beds in the halls being ignored by the nurses every time a patient asked for something. They were talking very poorly and very loudly while using expletives about certain patients and just acted like doing their job was such an inconvenience. So I made my family member leave because they didn’t feel safe there and I drove them over an hour away to go to Henry Ford because at least I know that hospital has actual doctors and nurses that want to help people. And I trust that hospital and knew my loved one would be taken care of.
Would give negative 10 stars if I could my mom had major back surgery today. She is inpatient surgery she got in recovery at 2pm. At 430 she has no room yet. I talk to the nurse and they tell me this is a trauma hospital and emergency room patients get rooms first. They basically said she is on the back burner for emergency room people. And she might not get a room tonight. And that till she does she will just stay in recovery. My mom went into surgery at 820am and in the back at around 630. I haven't seen her since this morning and now probably won't see her till they decide she is important enough to get a room. Why would u schedule inpatient surgery if your not gonna make sure the have a room afterwards.this place was horrible and jankey in the 90s and early 2000s and still is just cause they smacked dmc Infront of the name and gave it a facelift don't make it a good hospital I would rather risk getting shot at cyanide grace then ever come here again.
The worst emergency i have ever seen. Have been here with my brother who is sick and cannot even sit. They kept him sitting in wheel chair and giving some medicines. He is telling over and over he cannot sit, he wants to lay down. They are not even caring about it. Will never recommend to anyone.
I am from Canada had. A freak accident, I was treated like a queen. I never seen so many amazing doctors, nurses, resident and students not just took care of me. They made sure my fiancée had all the information he needed right away. Thank you to all of you. I dislocated my right elbow they fixed like nothing happened. Besides the little pain and bruising.
