I brewed my first batch of pear cider with the help of one of the guys (so sorry I forgot yoir name) and it couldn't have been easier. I ended up with about 23 liters of slightly sweet & carbonated cider for right around $80 - the price of 19 bottles. I had a gift certificate that I used to pick the type of cider I wanted to brew. I'll definitely do it again when I run low on the current supply.

The staff was very helpful in selecting a carboy. Making some honey ginger cyser for Christmas. I almost walked out with a plastic carboy instead of the glass one I was looking for!!! Also, when you invest in glass carboys (plastic just does not allow the proper aggressive cleaning without scratching the plastic... bacteria hides in the scratch just waiting to kill your favorite brew) a couple things to remember: glass is slippery when wet, a 5 gallon carboy when full weights a ton, and glass loves to break when dropped. Buy a carboy carrier for each carboy you own... glass carboys are an investment, protect them!

Closest homebrew store to where I live. Reasonably priced. I'm very new to homebrewing but am getting guidance from someone who has been in it for 20 years. Have had good customer service most of the times I've been there, but had one annoying experience when two of the guys decided to get condescending a la "comic-book-guy." I've been back since then, but am a little wary going in. It's unfortunate that nerds/geeks/fans can sometimes push people away instead of welcoming them to their passion for the hobby.
