Wonderful grooming services, delicious & healthy food & treats, fun accessories. A University Place institution.
Truly impressed with the product lines and specialty items that I came upon in visiting this store. The name tag I options include a line made by a jeweler - I ordered a bone shaped tag in sterling silver which will have my pup’s name hand stamped into it. SO excited to receive it to wear with collar pictures. Owner and staff are awesome too - informative, patient and helpful all the way.
I have been bringing my dogs here since the opening and I have always been very happy with every single visit! I love all of the staff and I feel like family when we are there! HANDS DOWN THE BEST GROOMING SERVICES IN KC!!!
We come here for grooming and treats. My shiba can a bit difficult and they do a great job with her. Ive encountered a few grooming places that wanted to charge extra for shibas but we pay a fair price for grooming at doggystyle and they do an amazing job. Despite having to get bathed here my dog still enjoys visiting bc she really loves the staff. It might be because they give her lots of attention and treats :
Unfortunately I had a bad experience with this company. They are disorganized, unprofessional and unreliable. They overbook appts and then cancel your appt on the dayafter waiting weeks for the appt. I understand issues happen, but after talking to the owner Andie, she was unwilling to accommodate a new appointment in a timely manner after this last minute cancellation- she was only willing to put me on a waitlist. I find this unacceptable. Brianna my groomer at DS is wonderful and talented, but sadly the management/customer service is unreliable at best.
I have been coming to Doggystyle over the years to get unique items that aren't available at the chain stores, such as special leashes and collars with quality closures, curry brushes, and treats. Now I come in regularly with my dog Bear because they are always so welcoming and their expert groomers are able to work with a dog who is fearful of getting his nails trimmed. Despite having to get groomed once in a while, Bear always loves coming in to say hi and get some snuggles from the wonderful folks at Doggystyle. Always happy to support a local small business.
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Doggystyle. The selection of chews, treats, and toys was average and what you would find at a large chain e.g. Petco. Far worse, the shop owner was unwelcoming and cold. While browsing, my pup sniffed a chew treat. I will mention here that most of the toys, etc. for sale in this store are in bins on the floor at eye level for dogs and freely accessible. After said sniff, despite having no intention of buying it, I was forced into purchasing the chew treat. Is this some sort of trap? Then, when the total fell short of their minimum for credit card purchases, and I didn't have cash on me, I had no choice but to buy a second item simply to meet the minimum requirement. I always support small businesses and small business owners, but this kind of treatment towards customers is completely unacceptable. I sincerely hope that strong-arming a customer was worth it, because I will never set foot in this establishment again, and I will make it a point to share my experience with others.
Great to have a neighborhood spot for Irv’s food and friendly staff always happy to see us despite my persnickety dog.
While the haircut is good, the owner can be very rude and the pricing is ridiculous. Every time I go the price seems to go up and the “matting fee” increases. They also gave my dog a bad ear infection after not cleaning/drying his ears properly which cost me multiple hundreds more to fix.
Have just got a taxi speeding to get there before 7 and it has closed 10 minutes early at last
