Amazing service. As an traveling professional I’m so happy knowing the professionals at DOTR will take good care of my dogs. Last minute trips or week long conferences they make themselves available. Every sitter personable and professional; you can tell they all just love dogs. Can’t say enough about this incredible service.
DOTR is a great solution for dog care! I learned of them through a friend who contracts with them. They have several options for care, and they listened to me to help find the right day and overnight care for my shy dog’s needs. I know she’s being well cared for and getting lots of love and walks. I’ve found a wonderful dog trainer through them as well, who’s very responsive and has made a big difference in our lives.
I have been working with Dogs on the Run for almost a months now and it has been an incredible experience being able to help care for so many people and their animals. April and the rest of the staff are very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. They provide great services with highly qualified pet care professionals they asked many good questions when I was consulting with them about working with them. I can promise your pets are safe in the hands of Dogs on The Run:
Very happy with everything - Annmarian was great with my dog and cats. Scheduling, coordinating, updates, and follow up all first class - highly recommend!
Dogs On The Runs is the best! They are very professional and provide a quality service. April and the team do a great job understanding the clients specifc needs and matching them with the perfect pet care pro! Pet care professionals I have had are always knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. We love knowing we can leave our 3 dogs, cat and bunny in there care when we travel around.
Great experience. I'm a customer for over 1 year for now. I had about 3 series of cat sitting services for now. Every service is perfect. Very friendly staff, quick response and smooth communication!
We have been working with Dogs on the Run for about 8 years now. They have always provided professional and caring dog sitters. We have 3 older dogs and are very picky about their care. We feel lucky to have a resource in Dogs in the Run that allows us to travel and not worry about our precious pups while we are away.
We had travel plans and needed 24-hour in-home coverage for our two fur children. Contacted DOTR 4 months prior to the first trip and the owner, April, connected us to a sitter available for all travel dates. We met her, checked references, and booked her to watch our dogs. 3 weeks before the first trip, we were told she had a death in the family and it wasn’t certain she would be back in town in time to watch our girls. So April suggested we secure a “backup” sitter to be safe. We then met another sitter from DOTR who was quite intense and snapped at my wife. The woman didn’t apologize. Instead, tried to pass it off saying she had a long day. We shared feedback with April, who admitted the sitter’s style was not for everyone. We then met a third sitter from DOTR Carlee who seemed perfect! Lived close, worked with dogs for 10 years, was personable and sweet with our girls, and was available for all trips. Our first night away, at 9:13pm, my wife received a text from a neighbor across the street stating that someone came to his door asking to use a phone and saying they were pet sitting for us. Didn’t seem like she could get in the house or take care of the dogs. Said her phone died and didn’t have her charger. There’s been some recent crime in our neighborhood, so the neighbor told my wife he was reaching out to us just to make sure it’s legit. My wife replied and confirmed we do have a sitter staying at our house. But is confused because Carlee has our garage code and did get into the house earlier – Ring doorbell camera confirmed it and Carlee texted my wife to let her know she got in. Neighbor says, “let’s chat.” Between what this and another neighbor shared about the sitter’s erratic behavior, as well as footage from our Ring cameras, we tried to piece together what was taking place. Despite the fact that we hired Carlee for 24-hour care, she left our house twice that night with the front door unlocked, the front gate wide open, and our dogs alone in the dark – once for a half hour and then for over an hour. Neighbor checked on our dogs for us, turned a light on and locked the front door and another neighbor agreed to sleep over until we scrambled to find a friend to stay with the dogs for the rest of our trip. When my wife spoke with Carlee and asked why she left the dogs alone with the front door unlocked, the story kept changing. She finally admits she needed to “dip out” and while she was gone, lost her phone. Then someone found it, so she needed to leave again to retrieve it. Aside from leaving her iPad on top of a hose pot in our courtyard, a sock in our backyard, assorted pills in a box, and a vape cartridge, we also found a nearly empty bottle of vodka in the drawer of the nightstand in our guest room not ours and a bottle of vanilla liqueur in our snack pantry ours, but not where we keep it. We are sickened by what took place and are grateful to have had wonderful neighbors and friends looking out for us and coming to our and our dogs’ rescue. DOTR claims to thoroughly vet their pet sitters who are all contractors, but it is evident something was missed here. We thought we were hiring a qualified pet sitter through a reputable company, but that was not the case. This sitter’s intoxication and irresponsible behavior clearly endangered the safety of our dogs and home. Needless to say, we will never work with DOTR again. But it is my hope that DOTR no longer represents this person and that they take active steps to improve their hiring practices. No one else should have to experience the same level of stress and fear we did while leaving their beloved fur children in someone else’s lack of care.
I have been using Dogs on the Run for several years now... I have complete confidence in them when I leave my pups in their care. April, the owner, is terrific to work with. Very responsive and helpful. She works with you to help you find the best fit for the type of "care" you need. We have our "favorite" dog sitter, but when he is not available I can trust that April will send someone that is great. :
We are so grateful for Dogs On The Run. Our beagle is an animal testing survivor. She is just learning how to trust. Of course we are extremely protective of her and had to be absolutely certain we could trust the person caring for her. Jan Martin is so kind and loving. She truly cares for our pup and loves her as her own. Jan is always updating me and is extremely responsive. Thank you Jan. Thank you Dogs On The Run. Thank you for caring for and loving our dogs as much as we do.
