Was operated from the Hertz counter. The lady at the counter offered insurances and other Vermont specific strange stuff for a huge premium. Please do not take them, I got fooled by choosing them. These are normally covered by many VISA/other credit cards.
Be careful when renting from Dollar. We had a great experience until they hit us with a $15.00 "admin fee" per unpaid toll. This was our mistake as we thought we had opted into the pre-paid toll option. Had we realized we did not, we would have gladly paid the toll at the time. This is corporate greed at its worst - they can't and won't try to explain their "admin fee".
I selected the “suppliers choice” option via Priceline. When I arrived at Dollar Rental the desk service explained the only option available to me is a rear-drive sedan, and warned me about the snowstorm looming. If I wanted all wheel drive I had to pay 150$ more plus 9% tax. And she pressured me to buy their insurance because “some insurance plans don’t apply in the State of Vermont.” It was incredibly irresponsible of them to be providing cars unsafe to drive in the winter as the only “supplier’s choice”. And the insurance talk felt like a scare tactic. I ended paying $200 more than I booked. I will not rent from them Dollar Rental again
Very good service from Hertz counter as Dollar one was not open yet. Everything was clear, and the car looks nice and functional!
I rented a vehicle from Dollar on September 22, 2021 at the Burlington, VT airport. I rented the vehicle through Priceline. Only took maybe 5 minutes from the time I reached the counter to the time I was handed the keys. Dollar was able to still honor my reservation even though I was 6 hours late due to a missed plane connection. Guy at the counter was incredibly nice. Had a 2021 Hyundai Elantra that was in great condition. Drove like a champ the whole time I had it. Return process was incredible easy. Just drove right up, parked, handed the attendent my keys and off I went. Also, the price was incredibly cheap. Like $49 a day which I think is pretty solid especially with the price of rental cars nowadays. No hidden fees after returning my car or at the counter either. I was cautious to rent from them because they're not as well known and I thought it could turn into a horror show. Instead, I had one of the better experiences I've ever had renting a car. Would rate this company a 5/5. Excellent.
While very easy to book online, I was excited to get a reasonable deal for my vacation in Vermont... When I arrived to pick up my car, he totaled my bill to be exactly double what was quoted to me online. I asked why the price increase and he said because of a "young driver" fee. In my opinion, when booking online, I believe they should include that in their transaction since I was completely blown away by the price and I would not have rented a car through them, had I know. Just beware, folks.
Gave me inaccurate rental details while attempting to book with a debit card and ACCUSED ME OF FRAUD while I was simply trying to arrange my travel details for my vacation week in Vermont. I just got off the phone with a Hertz agent who was SO helpful and amazing.
I prepaid with my debit through an online vacation package. When I arrived at the airport, they didnt want to give me a car since I didn’t have a credit card even though I had already paid for the rental and had my own auto insurance. I had to get defensive to get what I had paid for. Enterprise just gained a customer.
My husband rented a car through this company, very expensive awful experience, over price, ,don't rent a car here, they charge him 50 dollars extra even though he returned the car before 11am that was the time we were supposed to return it ,then they said no you got the car before 10 ,so you had to return it then even though they told him at 11am they're such a reap off!if I can give them a 0 I would, and also while driving light turn on.
i will never rent from you on 3/7/2021 at 7;10 pm the lady at the counter was so nasty to me when i turned the car back she was nice to her co worker the car was trashed i was so un happy with my rental i thank that was so rude my kids and the person behind me seen how rude she was to me i really thank this should be address this issue as soon as possible
